• Dave Chappelle Tackled On Stage By Weirdo With A Fake Gun Real Knife Combo

    Crazy that this actually happened:

May 4th – A man in the audience somehow got on stage at the Hollywood Bowl and rushed Dave Chappelle, tackling him violently and slamming him on the hard stage during his performance.

The weirdo (23 year old Isaiah Lee), was carrying this fake gun / knife gas station combo:

There are a lot more details over at TMZ, including pictures of the attackers arm bent backwards as he waits to be loaded in the ambulance 😂.  He was charged with possession of a weapon with intent to assault and unauthorized access to the stage area during a performance.  Bail is set at 30K, and apparently if convicted, he’d face no more than 18 months (probably less) in county jail.  Yikes.

Thoughts? To make things even weirder, Dave convinced security to let him talk to the guy before they took him away and he said the attack was all about getting attention for his grandmother who had been forced out of her neighborhood because of gentrification.

  • Firearms Training at a One Star Gun Range

The VICE “one star reviews” visits a shooting range for some training:

    Marshall Security in Compton, CA

5:48 – Oh no.. the “DETROIT DUST” style disarms 🤦‍♂️.  I thought it was more or less an isolated incident with those Detroit bozos.

Honestly those guys seem perfectly alright.  Initially I was expecting some really wild stuff to happen in the vid.  All pretty standard though.

Thoughts?. I like how VICE mixes it up with these goofy videos every now and then. Bonus when they’re gun related.

  • Shooting An Egg At 1 MILLION FPS

The Slow Mo Guys push the frame rate up to 1 MILLION in this video:

Amazing how far those cameras have come.  10,000 fps was considered so good back when he made a similar video 11 years ago. I bet in another decade we’ll be able to see 1million fps (or more) at 4k resolution.

Looks like that Phantom TMX 7510 they’re using in this vid is worth over $100,000. I always find it dumb when places are cagey about pricing. I know it’s probably part of their sales funnel, but I can only imagine how many tire kickers they get.. who are thinking the camera is probably a few thousand dollars max (because they didn’t even do an ounce of research). The whole “if you have to ask how much, then you can’t afford it” thing is so cringe and tiresome. I’m actually surprised companies do that at all anymore, with the way the world is now with wealth. Don’t even try to tell me some bitcoin bazillionaire wouldn’t see this EGG AT 1 MILLION FPS vid, hit up the phantom site… see the camera is “only” $XXX,XXX , then hit the buy now button (if there actually was one) and take a few cool videos of his vanity breed dog running in the wind before getting bored and throwing the camera in a closet and forgetting about it.

  • Is Chinese Body Armor Just As Good?

Dudes always asking if less expensive options are “JuSt aS GoOd?”.  Dustin takes a look:

3:33 – Holy by the look of that bulge the energy transfer of that M1 Garand hit would be devastating.

4:46 – Not a surprise the tungsten tip sailed right through.

7:48 – LOL he called his dog to bring him a magazine. 😂

$300 per set is definitely a lot cheaper than US based level III hard armor.  Couple searches I did showed less than half the price.  In this non-scientific test it sure seems to work well.  I guess if you’re buying it to hopefully safe your life though, you’ll have to make the decision of if you’d rather save a few hundred dollars and “hope” this foreign made armor does the job it’s supposed to do.  Obviously the military and police aren’t going to go that route, but for the dudes who LARP and need something to fill the plate carrier so they don’t get made fun of on Instagram, it definitely seems like it would do the job more than good enough.
