• Fragmentation Patterns When Using Steel Targets

lovemywoods over at the Indiana Gun Owners forum conducted some tests, showing how back-splash and fragmentation could be deadly:

    The testing rig:

    Example results:

Spoiler Alert: Hardened steel (AR500) is the safest.

  • Maple Syrup Glock Torture Test

Answering the question on every operator’s mind… How does the Glock handle maple syrup?

A word to the wise… stay out of maple syrup hot zones when you’re operating.

As ridiculous as the glock torture test videos mattv2099 makes, I enjoy every one of them.

I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.

Thoughts?  Were you surprised maple syrup killed it?  Would the M&P pass the test? :P

  • UTS-15 Shotgun Blasting With Hickok45

A look at the futuristic looking Turkish shotgun:

To me it doesn’t look any more or less fun that your run of the mill Remington 870… I like the cool look though and surprisingly it even weighs a bit less than the Remington 870.  The 15 round total capacity is obviously quite awesome.

17:17 – I really don’t like the idea of the magazine being open to debris.  Sure it’s neat you can see what you have left.. but at what cost?

Seems like a lot of different parts and doors and hinges on this shotgun.

I don’t care much for the price either ~$1200

You can check out the UTAS website for more information on the UTS-15.  All the useful info seems to be in their pdf catalog.

In the end this just seems like one of those things CowwaDooty nerds will buy to impress their friends.

  • Larue Tactical Shakes What Their Mama Gave Them

    Testing an AR-15 upper:

I don’t own anything by Larue Tactical (yet) but I’m told it’s really a notch or two above what you get from other manufacturers.  I don’t mind spending money if I’m going to get a better product, considering everyone and their grandma manufactures AR-15 receivers now.  Same goes for kydex holsters, everyone makes those now too I’m beginning to feel left out.

If you remember the A.R.M.S. vs Larue legal mess in 2009, this little “screw you” to A.R.M.S. was one of the reasons I fell in love with Larue Tactical in the first place.

  • Never Take DIY Ammo Advice From Someone Missing A Hand

There’s a good chance he didn’t lose that hand messing with ammo, but I don’t think I’ll take any chances:

3:20 – Firing test.  I’m actually very impressed how well they work.

4:40 – Shotgun Lawn Darts FTW!  Probably the most epic idea I’ve ever heard.

Thoughts?  Any of you ever try this?

  • Pump Action Stink Gun

Crazy sling shot guy Joerg Sprave is at it again:

I know I say this every time I post one of his videos, but he could honestly make a good living out of bringing most of these designs to retail.

1:03 – It’s breach loading. and to quote him “I call it the stink breach”   haha epic.

3:28 – “Smells like really old cheese with garlic”

That poison arrow he talks about at the end looks quite bad ass.  Joerg is definitely on some watch lists haha.

Speaking of stinky stuff, this reminds me I still have to send my sister a Fart By Mail.
