• Sig Sauer And The Serendipitous Science Of Silencers

Say the post title five times fast in front of the mirror with your eyes closed while spinning around, then look in the bathtub:

There were some good comments on the politics of the firearm silencer industry post of part 1 of this video.

Sig-Sauer-SilencersSeems like a lot of marketing… every silencer company claims their silencer and mounting system and finish is the best.  I don’t know who actually is in the lead.  Seems like mainly a matter of opinion because the lineups change so often and new players are introduced.

3:46 – That foldable stock tho… (That’s their MCX model rifle)

  • James Yeager Is Apparently A Genius

IQ of 300, which apparently makes him the world’s smartest man.

    James-Yeager-Smartest-Man

According to multiple sources [2,3], James Yeager broke the ceiling on the Cattell Culture Fair III, Leiter scale, OLSAT, Raven’s Progressive Matrices, Stanford–Binet, the Test for Genius and the WAIS. After astounding scientists from Princeton University and Stanford University, only extrapolations on experimental tests, developed by geniuses could conclude Yeager’s IQ is around 300.

James-Yeager-Angel-ApprovedLOL sounds like another attempt at viral marketing.  I doubt this one is going to gain as much traction as when he said he is going to start killing people who try to take his guns.  He really should stick to more controversial stuff like that… damn that was an entertaining time for the gun community.

Proving to others how smart they are according to tests seems to be a big part of some people’s lives.  I’ve heard James boast about how smart he is multiple times on video before.  I have no idea what my IQ is, and frankly I don’t care because it’s completely irrelevant to what’s important to me.

Thoughts?  I find this really hard to believe for so many reasons.  I had to look up the IQ scale, and now I’m even more convinced someone is really try-hard viral trolling on this one.  You won’t be surprised that the first comment on the CNN article is shots fired at Yeager for that gunfight incident from his past people always bring up.

  • Kim Kardashian On Online Gun Sales

    Heh:

    Kim-Kardashian-Online-Gun-Purchase

Oh celebrities and other people in positions of power and influence spreading bullshit they have no idea about.  Someone direct me to this website where one can just order a gun online and have it delivered without any pesky time consuming FFL etc…  Sounds pretty awesome and efficient, I’d like to check it out.

If you click the picture of Kim’s tweet, it will bring you to twitter where all the replies to her are.  Some of them are of course right on the money accurate, others are delusional from the anti-gun types.  You know the drill, about how laws should be made so criminals can’t get weapons.  LOL ya.

Kim-Kardashian-Skeet-Shooting-ShotgunApparently the tweet was in response to some guy in Houston TX, who killed 6 children and 2 adults in his home.  That’s what I’m told anyway… I don’t bring that kind of negativity into my life by learning about all these shit heads.  I normally wouldn’t even blog about something like this but I can’t pass up an opportunity to help echo the fact Kim Kardashian is an idiot.

Thoughts?  This is normally where I’d make a joke about how we need to get Ja Rule to weigh in on this.  I won’t be able to sleep before I know what Ja has to say on this topic.

  • The Hateful Eight – Trailer

Looks like some potentially decent gunplay in this:

I have to say I’m somewhat over Tarantino, after seeing all (or most) his movies.  I suppose every director has their predictable trademark things which they stick to though.

The-Hateful-EightI’ll almost definitely see this movie at some point when I want to shut my brain off for a couple hours and relax, but I’ll probably be like “Meh” and have no desire to ever see it again.

Thoughts? In theaters January 8th, 2016.

  • Traditional Saudi Gun Dance Is Lit

Woooooo look at this.  The dance of their people with muzzle loaders!:

    WE HAVE LIFT OFF.

If there was a Saudi Jeff Cooper he wouldn’t be too fond of this.  But YOLO.

There’s a tasteful Aladdin joke here somewhere, I just can’t find it.

Yung Ahmed treating the muzzle loader like a witches broom.

On the count of 3 in Arabic.

Squad goals right there.  You just know they are sliding into Saudi female DMs with that pic and the simple question “Tell me is you rollin with the squad or nah?

Head over to the original Reuters article to see more of their pictures.  Other cultures fascinate me.

Thoughts?   Someone should recreate this traditional dance with American Semi-autos!

  • Arduino AR-15 Sentry Gun

Dudes from NYC CNC gets it done:

I LOVE the NYC CNC YouTube channel.  So good… machining, Solidworks, and dicking around with electronics for days!

AR15-Sentry-Gun-ArduinoWhen I was in engineering we did something similar in MATLAB with a webcam recognizing things.  I remember not liking MATLAB and not liking that class at all, but I also couldn’t see the forest for the trees and apply it to potentially building a sentry gun.  Man… I could teach the old me so much about a lot of things. I’m so wise now.  I remember some of the guys in my group were really serious, and they didn’t like my suggestion of programming it to alert us via a siren when a girl walked into the Engineering building.  Back in the early 2000s there were hardly any girls in computer engineering…. Mechanical had more girls, but still the ratio was really off.  I hear now the ratio is evening up!

I’m looking forward to when he steps it up to .223 / 5.56 at long distance (not .22LR like in the video).
