• I Got Invited To This Epic Silencerco Product Release But Didn’t Attend

Whoa… ok if I knew there was going to be integrally suppressed pistol (they call it the Maxim 9) shooting in international waters I would have moved some things around and hopped on a plane:

That is so cool looking.  Dudes be like “It jammed on him tho”… whatever, that was a prototype and he dumped the rest of that mag after without issue.   No making insensitive “limp wrist” jokes.  That’s my territory, but I decided to take the high road for once haha.  I’m sure Silencerco will iron out any issues before this goes primetime.  I’ve seen some other videos where there were no issues at all dumping the mag.

I take back what I said about Silencerco vaporware like 24 hours ago LOL… they delivered hard on this first release.  I actually wouldn’t have even said that if I remembered at the time, that they invited me last month to this event… because it was obviously going to be something big.  Do they have a partnership with S&W, or is this some fancy machining and molding going on at the Silencerco factory? I have so many other questions too… like how do you clean it?  Looks like it disconnects.  Is the baffle design really fancy?  What’s the weight of the entire gun?  Can you run it wet if you want to?

You know I’m looking forward to seeing a Glock version, and of course the obligatory Deagle brand deagle .50 version just for kicks… Hi-Point version is a necessity as well just to troll hard.  Silencerco has a good sense of humor, judging by the videos (and the fact they invited ME to this release) so I could see them doing a Hi-Point version.  I bet Silencerco is easily going to get the R&D of all this paid for by all the money rolling in from Hollywood who will want the Maxim 9 in the newest movies.

Silencerco-Maxim-9-internally-suppressed-pistolThoughts?  Do you see this as the future or do you like the idea of the classic removable silencer better?  Obviously each has their pros and cons it seems.

Besides the Maxim 9 (still in development), they actually have a rail mounted laser range finder (1 mi capability).  The price tag is $1000, which sounds reasonable.

  • Hey Fancy Pants It’s OK To Look When You’re Re-Holstering

Daisy-Dukes-Back-Pocket-HolsterTactical workspace t-rex, then some good advice at 0:43.  Wow he actually said to “look at your holster”… that’s something I wouldn’t expect from the high speed low drag Funker Tactical Instructor Zero marketing engine.

Thoughts?  Would add a finger spin and catch phrase before the look re-holster?

  • Married Girls Bikinis Rifles And A Vintage Theme

Noveske x OAF Nation.  This is cool:

Awesome.  A few of these girls had wedding rings on which I thought was kind of funny for such a video.  I would have bought 18 rifles, but since the girls aren’t single I’m buying ZERO rifles in protest. haha :P

Noveske-LogoI really would have thought the AR-15 market (especially the ones priced on the higher end of the spectrum) would have been saturated YEARS ago, but apparently not.  Well at least this collaboration came with an awesome video.  If you want a nice rifle with Magpul furniture and an OAF logo on it for $2000 they got you.

Thoughts? Excuse me while I go quench my thirst with some Evian x Alexander Wang water.

  • Real Life FPS Ultimate Gun Game

    Corridor Digital does it up:

I feel like this is something I’ve seen from them and others a hundred times before, but it was still cool because the VFX were top notch and they actually used a whole bunch of hilarious / different weapons.  I wonder how long it takes them to make a video like this from start to finish now?  It sure looks like a lot of work but they have a lot of different guys doing different tasks so who knows.

Here’s an interesting “behind the scenes” showing the programs and techniques they used:

    Corridor-DigitalCool stuff.  Thoughts?

  • TrackingPoint Is Back Like They Never Left

A flex / announcement… flexnoucement if you will:

Ooooo the shooting technology game is heating up with Silencerco in the mix now too.  Even though we’ve only seen that one vaporware video from Silencerco I have confidence in them to deliver some awesome stuff eventually. Hopefully it will be a game of leapfrog between them and TrackingPoint and other companies which decide to enter the game.

Our man Richie Ryan as the main guy in the video, in case you didn’t notice.  I’m liking that SUV thing he’s rolling in.. a Local Motors XC2V apparently.

TrackingPoint-LogoI know a lot of you guys aren’t thrilled TrackingPoint exists because it’s dumbing down and electronically over complicating shooting.  I think the company is awesome though, and as long as we still have straight mechanical “not smart” firearms I hope this technology continues to advance.

Here’s the usual PR crap companies put out about why/how they are back and what they are doing if you like to concern yourself with formalities like that and read about people on their team you’ve never heard of make generic obvious statements about the future. Yea as you can tell I’m not a fan of big company politics and putting on shows.

    Thoughts?

  • Andrew Fiasco With Another One On FireClean

WOOOooooooooooo damn Andrew “Vuurwapen” Tuohy is really going in.   This time it’s SHOTS FIRED at the Vickers Tactical / FireClean video below:

Ok so the problem here Andrew says (backed up with 1080p screenshots) is that different ammo was used in the test to support the point they wanted to, which was that FireClean is the best.  He even names the post “Where there’s smoke there’s liar”.  OHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!  haha I love it.  Clever post titles are the shit.

I just have this to say to Andrew:

If you missed my first two posts on this scandal: Is Fireclean Simply Crisco? A Scandal Of Epic Proportions? and Chemistry Professor Compares Crisco And Fireclean there are some additional videos and links in there which are relevant.  If you read comments on blog posts and FireClean’s own Facebook page you’ll see people white knighting them just because “it works”, regardless what the makeup is.  If there’s one thing about a scandal it’s that most people love to pick a side and defend it to the death.  I’m not sure if this one in particular will get 100% resolved either way, but I don’t really care anyway because I don’t shoot much and I have a big bottle of Breakfree CLP which works fine for my operations.

Thoughts?  What direction do you see this fiasco headed next?  At the very least I foresee a whole bunch of “parody” CLPs hitting the market, some funny videos, and maybe a morale patch or two.  If I didn’t have a million better ideas, I’d roll with something like that just for the lulz.
