I guess in Pakistan no one cares where the bullet actually ends up.
People walking everywhere. people shooting in every direction, guns being passed around freely, kids everywhere… I wonder how many people get injured per year from celebrations such as this?
When I saw the guy at 3:25 with the umbrella I was expecting some sort of batman’s penguin style gun… but sadly my hopes turned to disappointment when I realized it simply started to rain.
These guys hold their guns weird. Looks like most of them shoot with a half assed limp wristed grip. Also, most of them couldn’t maintain a safe muzzle direction to save their life.
Is there a 5 round magazine limit in Pakistan? It seems like that is all each of them is shooting in a row.
I wonder if their is a Pakistan equivalent to the Brady center? :P

Looks like Tokarevs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TT-33
Probably shooting old surplus ammo, hence the constant jams and FTFs
Did some Google searching for “Pakistani Weddings Guns” and got some interesting news and video results.
Yes, people do die, and yes- these shooters are quacked for safety.
Good find, they definitely do look like Tokarevs! You’re right, google pulls up some interesting info on the subject.
Yes, this is a very unfortunate and stupid tradition in my country. PPL die every year as most of these celebrations are done in densely populated areas. these guys are morons who never have handled a gun before. none of these guys have actually ever taken an aimed shot in their lives. the TTs they have are sometimes loaned and majority are illegal.
We do try to discourage such behavior though a national gun forum (pakguns.com/forum) and try to educate the masses as much as we can. but getting through to the wedding guys is difficult. Majority are illiterate and I guess the only way to get to them is via tv ads.
also if you would look at this thread, you d get a more clearer picture of what goes and some reasons behind it.

Thanks for the insight Ahsan! Lots of good info on that site too. It seems like everyone on there knows English very well, I am a bit surprised.
You are welcome :)
You would be surprised to know that English is the primary medium of education through out the country and the de facto corporate language (except govt offices).
It is surprising that even in this day and age, where there are virtually no communication gaps and people have real time updates like tweets and social media like facebook, such misconceptions not only occur, they are widely acceptable as the truth.
In reality pakistan is a very progressive nation with a conservative back log as well. I guess the only pictures you see are of the worn torn remote tribal areas :)
It still amazes me that this country has nuclear weapons, when they obviously don’t posses the common sense not to shoot guns in air due to Newtons second law. What goes up must come down.
That’s Newton’s first law, I believe. An object in motion stays in motion until acted upon by an external force (gravity). Newton’s second law says that the greater the mass of the bullet and the greater the acceleration applied to it, the longer it will travel up before coming down.
Stupidity is not unique to any nation or race and one can easily find it in every single nation that exists on this planet.
The above act is example of such stupidity the consequences of which are borne by innocent people.
However, having lived in Pakistan and travelled extensively for over 31 years now, I’ve observed that the over whelming majority are learned and wise and would not indulge in such acts of stupidity. Our national gun forum http://www.pakguns.com is a common platform for gun enthusiasts from all over the country and one can see the level of professionalism and safety which is reflected in the mindset of almost every PakGunner.
Good to see that there are responsible gun owners that are coming together to find common ground on your website!
Tokarevs? At least one is a High Power clone.
