Pew Pew Pew Silencer Facts Infographic

Finally an infographic that doesn’t suck:

facts-suppressor-silencer

I get at least one email a week from some weak-ass marketing company wanting me to post their infographic.  I want to be like “Listen bro, no one is falling for your bullshit SEO grab.” but instead I just hit delete.  I hope they realize that this shit don’t come with trophies, ain’t no envelopes to open.  I do this ENDO because I’m supposed to.

Silencerco deserves some love for this one.  Buy a suppressor from them or facebook / tweet about how you love them long time.  As the judge I’m handing down a sentence of first degree murder charges on the color scheme alone… bodied.  I didn’t post the animated version, which is cool but a 1.1mb embed? LOL no thanks.

OOoooo that ownership map makes me happy! :)

Thoughts?

  1. It’s a pretty sweet, and something I wouldn’t mind framing or making a poster from it.

Best go re-read the Vermont law again.

    1. I was going to say the same thing. Damn that pesky $25 fine.

  3. The thing that also must be explained is that sound isn’t an easy scale to understand…
Something just 3dB less than another will sound twice less loud as the first. The perception of loudness drops or increases dramatically, even if on paper there isn’t a big gap.

Second thing, I find it difficult to compare a jackhammer, which we usually hear during a loooooong time with a gunshot, which is super quick… Next time I’ll hear workers outside, I’ll try to put ear pro and remove it quickly, to see if it works.

Since when does a suppressor increase accuracy?

      1. ENDO-Mike Avatar

Since operators have been operational! In all seriousness though I think they are saying that because of the recoil reduction and possibly flinch reduction because people aren’t bracing for the loud report.

      2. Suppressors can both increase accuracy, and FPS, especially on shorter barrels(not going to be much though). Improved accuracy really is only noticeable on long guns, and after a decent distance, not going to be a 1MOA improvement or anything, but it is noticeable.

  4. Uhhh I don’t think the VT bit is correct. I think Silencers are totally banned

  5. I heard that in Finland (in the millitary) they use suppressors a lot specifically to avoid paying for hearing damage That’s at least what spurred their interest in developing and making suppressors.

  6. i live in NY and have probably committed a thought crime for even reading the poster. i will be turning myself in to the nearest police station as required by law.

  7. As of July 02 2015, Suppressors are legal in Vermont. The old $25-35 fine will be removed in the new printing of the law books…
