VICE interviews Brandon Bryant about his time as a drone pilot:

I’m can’t say I’m surprised that not everyone is enthusiastic about the drone program.  I don’t feel like I really have enough information to have more than a gut reaction to what I see.. but in my opinion if flying using an unmanned aerial vehicle to kill bad people is saving the lives of good people (with minimal collateral damage) then it seems like a good idea.  It’s not like any type of war is clean.  Sending ground troops in will result in lives lost on both sides and innocent people getting killed as well.

Drones are one of those things where you really can’t quantify the amount of lives saved… there is definitely more accurate number regarding lives taken, so that of course is what gets dwelled on.
