Metal Detector Finds A Firearm Cache In River

A kid, a metal detector, a river, and lots of old rusted gun parts:

Seems like a cool hobby.  I’d probably be entertained as long as I found interesting stuff like this mixed in with all the garbage finds.

So many firearms and law experts in the comments on YouTube haha.

metal-detector-guns-riverWhat’s your theory on this cache?  I’m guessing crime guns like some of the commenters also guessed.  I’m sure forensics could still be done on the filed off serial numbers on a lot of those receivers.

From YouTube commenter Ben Garrison, this is what was found:

  • UZI submachine gun upper receiver
  • SA26 stock
  • PPSH41 upper receiver
  • Thompson SMG lower receiver.
  • STEN submachine gun trigger assembly
  • UZI front half of upper reviver
  • Uzi barrel
  • Another Thompson lower reviver
  • A third Thompson lower
  • Bolt for an UZI SMG
  • Looks like a .22 caliber silencer (possibly illegal to own)
  • Looks like the cut of stub of a barrel
  • Sawed off DP28 barrel with part of the barrel jacket and front sight
  • LarMother-Of-God-Memege silencer, probably for a .45 caliber MAC10 (Possibly illegal to own)
  • Upper receiver for a STEN, would probably fit the trigger assembly he found earlier
  • Magazine housing for a STEN
  • Bolt for an M1 Thompson SMG
  • Most of an SA26
  • not sure what the but plate if for, but it’s similar to an AK
  • The thing on the rock he calls slide is an upper reviver for a Thompson SMG (may very well be illegal to own)

Some of those parts look like they were dumped relatively recently! My bet is on a bunch of garage demilled rebuilds. Bubbah puts them back together, takes them out to the woods a few times for some full auto mag dumps and then tosses the parts into the pond.

Why would a criminal bother to disassemble the gun? If he bothered to do that he would be smart enough not to throwaway the lowers.

  3. I used to go down the beach and throw a bunch of nuts and bolts in the sand to mess with the metal detector guys.

Several years ago (2009?) a similar cash was dug up in a local River near a bridge the big difference being these guns were in excellent shape ended only been dumped recently.
I seem to remember there was a Thompson a couple of Japanese submachineguns and maybe a Sten they went to a local dealer while the police try to figure out where they had come from and what exactly they were. They were found by a road crew working on the bridge.

Another possibility is that someone discovered their dead relatives collection that was either illegal, or they thought it was.

I figured it was someone with a collection (possibly inherited) that didn’t want to mess with the regulated stuff.
I didn’t see any fudd rifles or ordinary handguns, so I’m doubting it was a dumping ground for murder weapons as those types of weapons would be present there too.
Who knows what really happened, it will probably remain a mystery.

Ben Garrison is one of the most dangerous men alive.
    He’s a neo-nazi leader from rural Montana.
He has evaded the the police, the federal marshals, CIA, ATF, FBI, Interpol, the IDF and Mossad for nearly 20 years.
Every time they send men after him they find only corpses of their agents.
Ben “Zyklon Ben” Garrison is now running a series of underground training camps for neo-Nazi terrorists somewhere in Montana.
Rumours now say that he’s constructing a convoy of mobile gas chambers disguised as commercial trucks, and that he’s stockpiling firearms, explosives, and poison gas intent to put an end to non-white influence in America once and for all. After that he’s next goal is to take his men and trucks on a global tour!

combine these finds with 3d printers and thousands of illegal guns can be manufactured
these guns have probably killed before and have a taste for blood
    ???????
    make all guns illegal

    1. if you make guns illegal, you will create a huge market for black market firearms, that means big easy money for anyone willing to break the law, remember prohibition? that worked right? and the war on drugs! im sure glad we got rid of all the drugs in this country.. i know ill feel safer knowing that the only guns in my neighborhood will be illegal and unregistered.. good thinkin
