The new Beretta APX:
Source – Janes
I don’t really have much to say about the above handgun… this post is more of an excuse to drop a few related Drake lines. The homie (I’m talking way before hashtags) Oren Schauble (formerly of Tracking Point fame, and now works for a tight looking UAV company called 3D Robotics) tweeted me the other day saying how he was disappointed Beretta bricked it by not riding the Drake wave and tweeting “Brand new Beretta”. I agreed, and we had some back and forth. I speculated it was because Beretta’s girl be like “Fuck what they talking about on your timeline. That’s cutting all into my time witchu”. Related side note: I can’t believe some people don’t like the mixtape (“album”… or whatever you consider it to be), I think it’s fire and will likely quote it non stop until the actual album “Views from the 6” drops.
The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the above pic of the APX, was the cozyboy look of the slide cocking serrations. So much room to breathe.. probably would be pretty nice with gloves. There is speculation that since the army recently shit on the adoption of the M9A3 pistol this APX might be another try. We’ll see I suppose.
Thoughts? Are we still good? Are will still good? Are you down for the cause? Are you down are you down are you dowwwwn?

I’d think about it if it came with flat slides. As is, this thing gets filed in the folder mrked “nope.”
Yet another generic polymer pistol? Yawn.
A Beretta brand Glock!

Chances are the next time the worlds most bad-ass military ever in the universe, issues LOE to the grunts – we’ll give a fuck. Till then you know god damn well it will take until the calendar reads 1911 again for our pistols to be replaced with, our pistols.
The simple reason is that a German sex symbol is exactly what it sounds like, not. And we all know that Generals and the secret service is about dirty, dirty porn.

I had to read this three times before it made sense, but 1911 #1 pistol in the world, all others are for the gays!

GZA – The Mexican Featuring Tom Morello guitar solo = that tsunami tirestorm
Looks nice. Also looks too much like the M&P.
We’ll see…
New Drake album is FIIIRRRREEEEEE! New Beretta…..not so much. Beretta needs to act their age and not Glocks age.
Also Mike, you talk about Drake so much I think if you ever run into him you need to ask “where da check tho?”
Lol. Yea and I’ll definitely have to ask him that.
HOLY MOLY! GROOVED FINGER REST?!
Looks like a Canik 55 TP9 and a Bersa BP9CC had a baby…
Maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m not seeing the “Grip Zone” on this gun. SO hot these days, the grip zone.
No grip zone. no grip zone. They KNNNOOOWWWW better. They KKKNNNOOOWWWW better.
*king push yeeeeechh adlib*
It’s no Nightowl 9mm.
I wonder if it takes 92 magazines like the Nightowl, albeit it with an obviously modified floorplate.
Oh dear god I hope so. I feel like the odd man out saying this but… I love my Beretta 92. In fact, I love mine so much I have two, one LEO issue and one two-tone. I even sent them off to Trijicon to have night sights installed by drilling out the front sight and having a tritium vial epoxied in. They are so smooth, have such a nice single action trigger, and are just so… sexy, I can’t figure out why so many people hate them.
My buddy has the PX4 and that is SWEET! Great gun. I’d own one except that in their infinite wisdom Beretta made the PX4 use different mags than the 92. They look identical but aren’t interchangeable. For simplicity’s sake I flatly refuse to have two different sets of nearly identical looking mags, both marked Beretta 9mm that wont work in the same gun.
If this takes my 92 mags, I will be ordering one.
You’re not the only Beretta 92 fan here. Most of the hate comes from hivemind circle-jerking. There are semi-legitimate complaints about the gun’s ergonomics (it’s grip is fat and the slide mounted safety is not ideal) but those fall into the same category as not liking Glock grip angle.
This is an example of “too little, too late”. Gonna be hard for Beretta to make a real dent in the poly service pistol market.
I remember somebody saying exactly the same thing about the HK VP9.
Haha ya look at the VP9 now with that Bond endorsement!!!!
I said the same thing about the P320, the FNS, the PPQ, and the VP9.
Although in defense of Walther, their new striker fires are awesome guns. The VP9’s price point for a HK makes them attractive as well.
I’m a Beretta fan, but I’m not sure about this. If it uses 92 mags, I’d be interested. I was hoping for something more radical including the twist locking action and a 5″ option. I’m looking for a good backup gun for USPSA production class and currently the sig320 is in the lead.
Well it looks a hell of a lot better than the PX4. I swear the grips on those things are silicone coated.
So….. pretty much an M&P made by beretta, with goofy slide serrations?
Oh and don’t forget to buy the 40 dollar a piece mags to go with it *eyeroll*
