I’m so HIGH DRAG/LOW SPEED I call myself a Tactical Turtle but even I know that pointing even an airsoft rifle at a crowd of people who are expecting me to do exactly that will mean there will be pics that will be used by the anti-gun lobby to damage our cause. Well besides the runway model scene, I really don’t think it was that bad. cultures are different, i mean they LOVE American stuff probably more than Americans do (a lot of celebs have gone there to do much worse for probably a lot less money), so in our eyes it may look really ridiculous (like their taste in clothing and hair styles). there are also quite a lot of rich japanese young men. and like all young men with lots of money, they like to spend it! Guns are not an option, so they can only really buy airsoft. he went there, got paid, and made some friends. He is doing more with his life than I ever will, so I won’t hate on the guy.

I can’t help but think this is what happens when you don’t allow people to have real guns. Airsoft is big in japan, because they like american action movies and are enthusiastic about firearms in general, but private ownership is virtually non-existent. Maybe once you are willing to settle for imitation firearms, it isn’t long before you are willing to settle for imitation girlfriends.
To the best of my knowledge, they are still held to a defensive only force, due to our WWII treaty. So they don’t even have many trained vets like we do in the USA who actually know what it’s like to shoot. Sad.
they actually go to Hawaii and in waikiki there’s a “gun range” that is offered to the japanese tourists.. the price to shoot the “special swat packages” are insane! but I guess they could keep flying down every winter and train.
