I give this music video and song an emphatic Meh:
0:03 – Tell me more about that Short Barrel Shotgun (SBS) 3d printed barrel.
There’s just too much to make fun of in this video, so I’m not going to even bother. Sadly I bet a good portion of the views the video has received are from people who actually think you can 3D print a functioning AK-47 and all the other guns shown in the video.
M.I.A. has had some good songs, don’t get me wrong but in my opinion she definitely tries too hard to be controversial. This video is a perfect example.
Thoughts?

So all I need to make my own neon yellow MAC 11 is a $1000 3D printer, an arduino, a parrot, gold teef, and some dude who can blow smoke rings? Cool.
In all seriousness, this is one of the most cringeworthy things that I have ever watched.
Liberator designer here:
‘SBS shotgun’ is actual AOW SSSS. Barrel was R&D before we released Liberator. .380, just like Liberator. Proof: http://postimg.com/image/150000/sss-149979.jpg
Whoa that’s awesome!
So it works with shotgun shells? Now I sorta want to print an entire shotgun.
So much plastic to handle the pressure! Now I know why De Leon is so scared of 3D printed weaponry, these guys turned a 12 gauge into a 410 and it still has mostly metal construction! Think of the children LOL
This video & song is great. Yall don’t know M.I.A.’s history. #groundbreaking
…(insert gay seal meme here)…
I don’t mind M.I.A. or her video style per se, but this particular song is just boring. You can’t please trolls with a music video; sticking to convention will get you mocked just as fast as trying for something different. If she had a message I’m not clear on who it was directed at, or what the message was. It kinda seemed like she was telling the nanny state that they were in trouble because they can’t control guns; an attack on security theater, which I would appreciate if it was the actual message.
Mike, bro, as soon as I’m back from the neurologist because of the grand mal seizure I just had, you should give MIA some pointers on actual clothing design. holy shit wtf just happened…
am I the only one who thinks the neon guns are pretty rad? i mean, these dudes look straight out of some video game with stylized gangs.
Didn’t she support the Tamil Tigers when they still existed a few years back? I know, one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter, but still, they were a rather unsavoury lot who shot many people with real kalishnakovs (probably FAL’s too). That is, until the Sri Lankan army grew weary of their shenanigans and rained down fire on them like a perturbed Vishnu.
What language was she singing? Seriously, that’s 2:41 of my life (far as I made it) I’ll never get back.
