Russell Simmons Does Not Like The Idea Of MrColionNoir

This MrColionNoir bashing is getting ridiculous:

Our community is not interested in a corporate sponsored gun group telling us what to do, when their real mission is to make more money for the corporations that line their dirty pockets with rolls of cash and silver bullets. We’re much smarter than that and certainly can see through their motives. Until they show a real interest in solving the violence problem in our community, they can keep their Yankee hat-wearing spokesman and their African-American “campaigns” for themselves. In the words of another Internet star, “ain’t nobody got time for that.”

Wow haha.  Russell Simmons is an amazing business man, but it’s obvious his celebrity status and gang of bodyguards has him out of touch with the real issue of life threatening violence, that people of any color should be prepared for.  I wonder if he berates all the artists on his label constantly for their past and present issues with guns?  Interesting too how guns are featured prominently in a lot of rap videos, especially back in the day.

Thoughts?  I’m sad that I like some of the current and former Def Jam artists so much.

despicable. Really think it’s due to fear. They are afraid of MCN.

Check out the documentary “Starsuckers.” It exposes the cult of celebrity. They pay a few people to follow them around with cameras and suddenly “unknowns” become royalty. Celebs are afraid they’re going to lose their power over their “fans.” Guess what, Simmons? You’ve already lost them. Most people are getting tired of hearing celebrities talk bullshit on topics they have no familiarity with. That’s why grassroots, real people like MrC are making headway and reaching people. Like Method Man said, “I keep it real like a piece of blued steel.” :)

Interesting… I would like to know what Mr. Simmons considers showing “real interest in solving the violence problem in our community.” I”m sure he supports those who are pushing an agenda of nonsense “solutions” because “we have to do something.” No one is talking about ending the war on drugs, which is in large part responsible for the disproportionately high arrest and incarceration rates among African Americans as well as creating an enormous black market rife with criminal enterprise and – yes, you were waiting for this – violence involving firearms.

  5. Russell Simmons is who exactly and why do I care what he has to say?

Russell Simmons is an amazing douche and an exquisite blowhard. He is an ultra-wealthy (founder of Def Jam records and other ventures) hypocrite who like to show up at Occupy events and complain about big banks and 1%ers. He runs his own debit card business called “Rush Card.” Has no problem condeming banks while charging even higher fees himself.

Every time I see Julian Epstein open his mouth I know I’m about to hear something vile, and he never disappoints, what a pathetic phony human. Russell Simmons is nothing but Col Parker (Elvis’s manager for you youngsters) with a larger stable. There is no reason to give the slightest consideration to the feces coming out of their pie holes.

  9. liberals live in a fantasy world where they are taxing the rich so that they can give it to the poor ignorant negros to buy fried chicken…Anything outside of their strictly structured preconceptions is repulsive to them as it sheds light on the house of cards that is all that they hold dear, so they will ignore or bad mouth it.
A black guy with a gun, that he legally owns and competes in shooting sports with?
    *fingers in ears

  10. It disgusts me that they throw out this emotion-charged bullshit to push their irrational opinions and in the same breath accuse us of fear mongering. They belittle our cause as the workings of the “gun lobby.” Well guess who funds the gun lobby? Your average freaking American who does not want to see their rights stripped away so the ignorant feel safer and the elite feel better about themselves.

I know I am preaching to the choir but this seriously pisses me off because it should not be working as well as it is.

  11. The only thing Noir needs to do, in my opinion, is remind people who bring up the “color” issue is by stating that there is no issue. Opposing forces who are bringing up race into the argument only to continue promoting racism and fear, to distract us from the real issues.

Piers Morgan: “How do you feel about being a black representative?”
Noir: “..Uh, I think I represent the black rifle & handgun community quite well.”

Or anytime someone calls him an “African-American” he needs to stop the conversation or demand they refer to him as an “American”. He shouldn’t have to play down a damn thing. If anything he should flip out like Alex Jones if he’s being attacked or slandered on the air. Just take off the mic and walk out.

Noir’s comments are ideas, feelings and other processes of the mind, and those things are not bound by race.

  12. Nothing like a White American, and an Indian Brit telling blacks what they’re supposed to think and do.

If this was fair and balanced why did they ask MrCN to represent himself instead of 2 blaitanly biased individuals talking about him?

This is why MSLSD can’t catch Fox News.
