Operation Zombie DERP With Chris Costa

A.K.A. “Art Of The Tactical Shark Jump”.  I’m embarrassed for him:

Operation Z is a comprehensive 12-part series and the ULTIMATE guide to surviving a zombie apocalypse.

Seriously?  I thought this was for sure fake, and that someone just complied stock footage.   Nope…. StarNews online has the scoop… it’s the real deal.  From a SHTF perspective I’m sure there will be some good info to be gleaned from this series if you can get past the zombie theme.

Makes me wonder how well his training school Costa Lupus is doing.  I though he would be one of the few guys that would laugh at a sales pitch that involved zombies.  I wonder if he will wear his magical arm tape in any episodes?

What’s next for Costa?  He’s likely got arm tape money rolling in by the wheelbarrow…. now zombie money.  I’m thinking the next logical step is a line of beard care products strictly for the middle aged tactical operator.

Thoughts?

  1. Wow. Just wow. Is this going to be a training video type thing? If so I have to ask: 12 part series? Really?

  2. Wait, is this a reality show like The Colony?
    Maybe he has gambling debts?

  3. Tactical beard face template.

Put said template up to your face and shave. In time, you will have an operator beard that all your non operator friends will be jealous of.

    I’d buy one.

    No.

  5. My money isn’t on beard care products I was thinking he might start doing cheesy t-shirts. Maybe he can get Yeager to wear them in all his videos. Kinda like you and that Collin guy. C’mon the guy is just trying to make a buck just like you. He is going to do some lame stuff. Especially when you see everybody else in the industry doing this zombie nonsense and people eating it up.

    1. Agreed, just because you and I hate the zombie stuff it’s become mainstream and if someone makes it worth Costa’s while to make this stuff then you really can’t blame him.

    2. +1 to everything Gviken said

  6. The bar has been lowered.

  7. in reading the article, the first 2 dvds might actually be worth it. they are taking 5 regular non-gun people and giving them training. could be useful for those of us who sometimes go “ummmm….because thats how its done” for an answer to a question we really arent sure of.

ill probably watch it, but i probably wont pay to see it.

Is this like… a movie/mockumentary like spinal tap? Is the beard going to be turned up to 11?

  9. Fucking dumb/pathetic.

  10. Beards improve combat effectiveness, thats a fact according to duffleblog.

    1. HAHA. Love it. Everything on duffleblog is 100% true. Don’t forget that.

I usually always have a 3 month tactical beard that is FUCKING amazing. However, I am getting ready to start with the local sheriff’s office and have been shaving it frequently because of the interview/processing/starting process. Looks like I will be 15 days a month for the next 6 months. Hopefully USMC OCS after that. Then, it will be daily.

  11. I know this is a fictional scenario, but if the zombie apocalypse breaks out in Los Angelas only, Why couldnt the US military, state gaurd, and militia handle it? Do we really need Taiwan to save us?

  12. I hate this whole zombie obsession as much as anyone else. Hell, some of my friends call me a zombie hipster, since I liked zombies years ago, and now I think they’re retarded.

However, the “zombie survival” craze does have one useful component. It gets people thinking about what they might do in the event of some sort of other biological agent outbreak. For example, smallpox. Or, for example, ebola hitting the US in large numbers.

28 days later had a decent premise, for a “zombie” movie. I doubt the infected would go crazy anywhere near as fast as they did, but it seems to me that the virus in that movie was basically just a super-rabies. So, what if there is an outbreak of drug resistant rabies?

I’m not saying this series of videos isn’t pretty dumb, overall. I’m just saying that I’m sure there will be some useful information in them, even if the overall premise is kind of silly.

    1. Hell, if you’re prepared for a zombie/bio scenario, you’re prepared for just about anything.

  13. If you prepare for zombies, a hurricane is just a rain storm.

And what do you mean, fictional? Zombies aren’t real? The CDC is preparing for them! Its a conspiracy of silence! The gov’t is lying! We’re all gonna di…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

    braaaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnnnnns……aaaauuuugugg………….bbrraaaaaiins…..

  14. what the hell was that gatling arrow rifle thing?!?

  15. The real premise is a video for the very basic beginner. Something to segue you into the Art of series where you already have to know a bit about firearms to even understand. My understanding is that It’s being done by the same people as the Art of Series so production values should be good. I’ll reserve judgement on this one until I see it. The preview makes me think it could go either way.

And his training company is doing quite well.

  16. I saw a preview of this. The actual video is nothing like the trailer. It’s a Magpul video that is dumbed down and mentions a zombie attack every once in awhile. It’s sad that this is 12 parts. Waste of money.

  17. While this is so faddish with the zombie theme, and I know we are all hipsters now about zombies, the premise of a quarantine/outbreak/infection of any kind is fucking scary. Whether is be SARS, Bird/Swine Flu, TB, or whatever nasty concoction the CDC cooks up over in Atlanta (I am only an hour and a half away). It is a scary premise that could genuinely happen. If you think it is impossible you live in a fantasy land.
