Bank Of America Tells McMillan His Money Isn’t Good There

You can also check out a description of the event on McMillan’s facebook page – HERE

Bank Of America’s official statement:

While we cannot discuss the details of any individual client we work with, we can assure you the allegations being made here are completely false. Bank of America does not have a policy that prohibits us from banking with clients in this industry. In fact, we have numerous, longstanding customers in the industry.

We are also extremely proud of our support of the US military and reject any assertion to the contrary. We count as clients many companies that provide for our nation’s defense. We employ thousands of veterans, Guardsmen, and Reservists, and plan to increase our hiring this year.

Commercial Bank Executive

Ugh… so they are denying they told McMillan to take a hike?  Fishy.  I highly doubt McMillan would make something like that up considering the legal ramifications of such accusations.

If you’re not familiar with McMillan, make sure to check them out.  They have a lot of nice products.

When I was looking for an accountant and a lawyer a couple years ago, I had a few similar experiences.  I found it surprising, because I always figured as a “professional” it was standard to keep your personal beliefs separate from your company’s business.  *shrug* I guess the economy is so good people can turn down business.  I maybe should have made a bigger deal out if it than I did, but I really don’t like wasting my time on people or companies that have twisted agendas and/or beliefs.

Thoughts? Anyone else have a similar experience?

  1. Just listen to the Dave Ramsey show for a week and see how many complaints there are about B of A, and for that matter just about every mega-bank. They are HUGE and INCOMPETENT. I’m not surprised they would kick out McMillan Group, despite their profitability. B of A makes terrible decisions all the time and I would encourage everyone to never to business with them. There are just too many horror stories. Including one I saw last year about B of A attempting to foreclose on a house that was paid for.

  2. I’m kinda surprised to hear that the BoA denies this happened. What do ya expect from a big bank though? Fuck ’em.

  3. “We opened the account under McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, I don’t know how in the world they could look at the account name and not understand what we did.”(pardon the lack of an exact quote).

Had to be my favorite part of the interview.

  4. I run a large ecommerce site that sells bikini products for women. Most service providers have no problem with that, as the business is branded as a “beauty” business and not an “adult products” business.

Nevertheless, there was a mega bank, that shall not be named, that turned me down for a business account because they weren’t comfortable with the products. I had it appealed to their corporate office and the refusal remained. It was so incredibly stupid.

    1. Why not name them?

      Fuck em.

  5. explains why boa cards are commie red and why all their applications for online banking are commie red.

I guess they really have enough money to turn away customers like that based on some sick political agenda.

I agree fuck em!… un american commie fucktards… welcome to bank of china how can we NOT help you today.

  6. I fucking love your tag logos!

      haha thanks.

  7. The fact that they denied everything is really strange.

  8. Massive communication gaps and makes me think that McMillan jumped the gun. Wait for the 3rd side of the story to come and that will be the truth!

  9. USAA, FTW.

  10. I will never ever do business with BOA now. I don’t even need to know all the facts the allegations are enough. I trust Mr. Mcmillian.

  11. On a related note, if anyone doubts that BOA opens accounts for illegals – check out your local branch office on a Friday. Anytime after 3:00 will do, but it really picks up after 4:00. You’ll think you’re in Nogales. I don’t recalling seeing this phenomenon at other banks.

The wonderful thing about capitalism and competition is that the customer has the freedom to pick and choose what they want to purchase. I stopped doing business with BofA about 7 years ago. Way before the banking crisis. I rather keep my money under the mattress and go to see “Guido” down the street for a short-term, high-interest, loan than to do business with BofA. At least “Guido” is respectable and keeps to his word.

Didn’t BoA get a boost from the bailouts.

And I think I read some were they were linked with the American Mugabe.

  14. It’s amazing that people still bank with the mega banks. Way to be cool with them ripping off the taxpayers for billions. We get the Gov. we deserve and the banks as well.
