I’m giving away 11 copies of this new book by Paul Barrett:
About the book:
Based on fifteen years of research, Glock is the riveting story of the weapon that has become known as American’s gun. Today the Glock pistol has been embraced by two-thirds of all U.S. police departments, glamorized in countless Hollywood movies, and featured as a ubiquitous presence on prime-time TV. It has been rhapsodized by hip-hop artists, and coveted by cops and crooks alike.
Filled with corporate intrigue, political maneuvering, Hollywood glitz, bloody shoot-outs—and an attempt on Gaston Glock’s life by a former lieutenant—Glock is at once the inside account of how Glock the company went about marketing its pistol to police agencies and later the public, as well as a compelling chronicle of the evolution of gun culture in America.

Oh, great. First. Guess I have an equal chance as any other number.
Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers
Sounds like an interesting read…
I’m not a fan of Glocks, but I can definitely appreciate them for the rugged piece of equipment that it is.
glocks, just like the S&W I dumped. Or is it the other way around?
Sounds like a interesting read.
Just bought my first glock couple days ago. I believe the hype now.
Sounds like a good read. Wouldn’t mind winning a Copy.
Watched my Dad carry his Glock to work every day for the past 20 years. One day I’ll have my own.
i enjoy the blog
Extremely interested!
I’d be interesting in this give away.

Outstanding contest, I accept the book. Thanks!
Just bought my first handgun: GLOCK 19. Ahh, Kool-Aid.
I wouldn’t necessarily call it “America’s Gun”, when one looks at weapons like the M1911, the AR-15, or the Remington 870, but still. Sounds like a good book. Count me in.
This would be a great way to waste some time at work.
Love to read. Love to read about guns even more.
I don’t read often but I love a good gun book, count me in.
Early addopter here. My G17 is older than most of you nancys. Now get off my lawn.
Glock book whoo!
Let’s do this. I’m all about free stuff.
Might as well toss my hat in the ring.
Love my Glock.
Checked my email expecting to have already won……
Y U NO PICK ME ENDO?!
*really hoping to win this…*
just graduated and would love some ‘high caliber’ reading
First time commenting. Thanks for running such a sweet site.
Thanks for the contest!
Well, I figure I’m going to read it eventually anyway…might as well take a shot at a free copy.
I would love to win this book, looks super interesting. I just fee like calling an Austrian gun “Americas” gun is a bit silly but it is a huge topic in culture. i mean even Uffie has a song called “pop the glock”
ps first time poster long time lurker.
As a new Glock 17 (gen 3) owner Id like to give this a good read =)
I, for one, would love a free copy of this book. I am also prepared to grin like Ralphie requesting an “official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle” from Santa if I win.
I’m the original Ruger Fanboi, but I like to read, so I’ll check it out.
I know how to read so I think I am well prepared to win this book.
Wow, thanks for doing this. Sounds like an interesting read.
never had or fired a glock, this book would give me info i need..
Nice Contest ! It would be GREAT to win one of the books !
I really would like to read this book! Thanks for doing this contest!
G27 gen-3
(along with 9mm drop-in conversion)
Looks like a very interesting read.
I would love to read this. Die Hard Glock fan…..
Thanks for the chance. I’m really intereted in this book.
I’d love a copy of the book!
amazon.com here i come.. (i dont live in the states) :(
but i do own the amazing glock :D
preordering now.
Does this Glock book come with an assault bookmark cause I herd those are illegal here in the state of NY.
*pew* *pew* that’s the sound my GLOCK makes :)
Thanks for the opportunity!
Challenge accepted, here is my comment.
Excellent. Looks like an interesting book.
Here’s my original comment for the book.
I finally bought a 35 after trying several other makes. Initially I could shoot it a little better than the others but didn’t think it was that much better of a gun than any other. After using it a while, I really like it and plan on getting a 20 soon. I like that you only have to clean it once a year or so…if you remember to! ;-)
count me in and I do like your blog…
I have heard good things about this book.
Count me in please.
I normally read my books digitally but this would look cool on my book shelves when I’m done reading it. :)
I’ve resisted buying a Glock so far because I like being a little different. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to resist.
I would like to read it, but I’m afraid I might run out of excuses not to own a Glock.
Excellent! A chance of why this Austrian polymer more or less replaced what was once America’s gun, the Colt .45.
I could use some extra reading material
Hooray@ I am a total slut for contests and giveaways.
My comment!
Although, just like the Model T was replaced, eventually the Glock too will fall by the wayside. The S&W M&P is already making inroads.
A book to shoot with my Glocks.
I’m in been Shooting a 17 competitively since I was a kid. Millions of rounds through it and it’s not really black anymore but it still runs like a dream.
Heard mixed things, but something I wanted to read. Definitely worth the five seconds it takes to post…
Here’s my comment. Read the sample on iBooks and I’m kind of pumped.
Interesting book
here’s my entry. . .er, comment.
After handling a Gen3 RTF G17 at a gun store, I started lusting after one. I had originally wanted a XDM in 9mm because of the magazine capacity, but found the grip safety to be uncomfortable, even when the dealer went through the trouble of changing the backstraps for me. Both pistols were cost prohibitive on an E5’s pay, so I didn’t have the ability to purchase either. One day, a friend of mine offered me a deal, he wanted my SKS and was willing to trade his S&W airlite in .357. I agreed. I also found out while the revolver concealed well and was light as hell, it was very unpleasant to shoot. I was out riding, and stopped at a pawn shop to drool over there used guns, and they had the object of my lust under the counter. I offered the revolver as trade, and they bit. I absolutely love my Glock, not to the point of being a Glock-whore, but I do carry it every day.
Sounds like a good read. I might pick up a copy, as my odds are fairly low here.
Thank you!
always worth a shot free stuff is awesome , but free gun related items is the best!
Gimme.
Have read reviews and looks to be an interesting read.
In for the drawing.
All I wanted was a comment, just one comment!
I’m not crazy (you’re the one that’s crazy)!
lets hope the book is as good as the firearms i own a 23 and a 27 awesome firearms
Can say I’m a Glock fanboy but it looks like a very interesting read.
READ A BOOK!
Captain Ramius: Re-verify our range to target… one comment only.
Capt. Vasili Borodin: Captain, I – I – I just…
Captain Ramius: Give me a comment, Vasili. One comment only, please.
Capt. Vasili Borodin: Aye, Captain.
(A Glock 22 was my Christmas present. I’d love to read the book.)[And yes, my signature is on the 4473].
I hope to be doing some good reading soon.
Pick me Mike! I saw this book when it came out and thought it’d be interesting
Looks like a great read!
Sounds like a great read. Wish I was going to SHOT Show (I didn’t draw the good straw).
would love a copy of this book
This looks like an interesting book.
Bring on the randomness!
Give something away and get 100 comments. For awhile for I was opposed to Glocks, but lately I’ve been eyeing the Glock 26 subcompact 9mm for concealed carry.
Neat. I want one. After I read it, it will be the display book on my coffee table.
This would be an awesome addition to any collection for sure.
Thanks! looks like a good read.
I want to read it!
I want a Glock 21!!!!
My curiosity is piqued. I’m not a big Glock fan, but I’d be interested in reading it.
Glock? Yes please.
I’m in, thanks for the offer. Been enjoying your blog for a while now.
I’d very much like to read this.
Been waiting for this book!
Thanks!
I’m not a glock guy, but still seems pretty interesting, and though I don’t own one, I still think they are great guns.
*fingers crossed*
I am also not a huge Glock fan, although I will admit that the pre-Gen4 Glock 17 is a fine handgun and I do own and shoot one. I am curious if the book is written in the factual or fan-boy style and would definitely read it.
I have just sacrificed a goat for luck
Was that a requirement???…lol
Expanded version of the Newsday article? Still should be a good read
Glocks…what’s not to love…? I got my first one when they first got here, been in love with ’em ever since. If you want a gun that goes “bang” everytime, get a Glock. Preferred by those “that know”…
Heard good things about this book. Cheers!
Pick me!! :D
Fingers Crossed
Looks interesting!
Me too.

The Newsday article was pretty good. Looking forward to reading this.
Maybe the book will convince me to finally buy a Glock.
Here’s hoping I win
I’m in, Mike.

I thought the AR-15 was America’s gun. Guess I’ll have to read the book to learn otherwise. Maybe I’ll win one.
looks like an interesting read. Game on!
Count me in.
I would give it a read!
I hope I win!
probably been said already but it’s funny how America’s gun isn’t American. though I suppose it’s the most common in America.
In high school Army JROTC I did my senior year MOI report on Gaston Glock and his innovative pistols. I wish I still had the materials from that presentation. I’m sure this book will bring back some memories, plus offer some corrections. After all, I was just a high school kid.
The Glock sure is popular in the U.S. (and around the globe) but I wouldn’t necessarily consider it “America’s gun”. I agree with Dennis, the AR-15 is our rifle and the 1911 is probably “our gun”. (not a flame, just saying that if we had to pick America’s gun, it would probably be invented here…)
Glock my favorite weapon.
Looking forward to the book, win or lose.
Looks like a pretty cool book. Just what I need, yet another to heap onto the read pile!
I’m so in fo this contest, I’ve owned and only ever carry a G30 and I love it for it’s simple operation and reliability. It is far and beyond the brand of choice when people come talk to my about their first defensive arm.
I was sad that my little hands and the fat grip of the Glock were incompatible! I bought a 23 and a 19, believing that I could make it work but, alas, I just couldn’t get them on target fast and accurate without muscling it around. My SR9C is great! But it is no Glock! Oh, Gaston!
no more responses ok…just ok..
Should be an interesting read.
I’m in
I’m in, and thanks for the giveaway!
Glock power!
I love porcelain Glock 7’s!
I’m rolling! I love give aways!
Thanks Mike.
This looks to be an interesting read, though from what I’ve seen so far it talks more about the characters involved than the engineering of the guns.
I shall be reading this
I’ll read the book even if I don’t win, but it would make a nice addition to my library.
Got a G19 and a G20 so far.
Looks like a great read, and I would love to have one.
I’m in
I might get around to buying it even if I don’t win it.
In.
Book looks Interesting. I’m a BIG Glock fan!
in it to win it!
America’s Gun…
I thought that was the 1911…
Oh well, I own more Glocks than 1911’s so why not…
I also thought the AR-15 and its variants were America’s gun….
I love glocks
I like my handguns like I like my economics: Austrian
Let’s do this!
Im a us marine and my hand gun of choice is the glock 22! NOT the mutherf&¢king Beretta! Aaragh!!! Semper fi!
i hope this book doesn’t blow up on me
It would be awesome to see the why, how and timeline of the gun’s rise in America. Good luck to me :D.
count me in for the drawing.
I’m in. I love reading. And guns, of course.
America.

I once met Gaston Glock at a GSSF event in Conyers, GA.
It is a bittersweet memory. I got to meet him (very unassuming
fellow who I think looks like Fred Astaire), had my dad along with
me also competing, and learned later that I won a G35.
The bad part is that my dad couldn’t finish the match due to back
problems that had started just before the match. Within a two weeks
he had been diagnosed with a tumor on his spine, and only lived
another few months.
Glock FTMFW!
safe action comment
I don’t need the free copy of GLOCK: The Rise of America’s Gun, but I’m thrilled to see all the interest. Thanks to all!

Glock-21 lover!
Good luck to all.
I have read the short version of this in the business mag and an intrigued.
I have reached the point in my shooting hobby that I cannot ignore the big Austrian elephant in the room. One of these days, I’ll get a Glock.

I find it funny that Americas gun isn’t made in America.
The best gun blog on the internet.
Awesome!!
I love my G20 and G26, want a G29SF.
Count me in. I carry my personal Glock 22 on duty and it’d be nice to hear some extra back story.
In!
My 2 pin glock 17 was my dad’s duty gun and he sold it to me for 500 bucks!
My first handgun was a G17. I sold it after being convinced that the 9mm round was ineffective. So, I sold the G17 and bought a G33. A subcompact in .357 SIG was a bad idea. Too much drama for the same size hole as a 9mm. Sold the G33 and moved on to a different brand. Older and wiser now, I want a G19 and this book.
Holy comments, Batman! I would love one of these.
Great giveaway!
I really wish I had gotten a Glock for my first weapon.
Sweet!
I visit this site often but don’t usually comment. This post is a nice way to see how many others there are who also passively participate in ENDO. Thanks for the daily entertainment.

Bam! 246th! How you like those apples!
I should win.
Minnesota has this dumb pistol law requiring that the purchaser be 21 years old and have a Permit to Purchase. So my Glock experience is limited to rentals at the range. Regardless, I still want to read this book!
I’m going to read mine down range.
Hook it up.
Would love this!
I carry a 1911 and have another in the desk in my office, but I have a Glock in my car. It gets mighty cold here in Wyoming.
[email protected]
I love my Glocks, and I carry one every day. I’m glad my department issues Glocks.

Love the site!
I love free giveaways that you can just enter. You know without all that extra crap like polls, questions, or yours and 3 friends Emails… Thanks for doing it right.
great blog, keep it up! As for the Glock pistol not my cup o tea, prefer the 1911 myself, and hate the grip angle on them glocks, so that soured me right off on them.
Well I guess I could say I love your site or Glocks are great. Or I could tell you that my love muscle makes a Glock 34 look like a 1 years old’s d!©k. . . regardless I’m still in.
Secretly I love Glocks. It’s just so much fun to hate them.
I’m in. The book looks pretty interesting.
Thanks for the great opportunity, ENDO is like my morning coffee now.
I love my Glocks, and I love to read!
Looks like an interesting read, thanks for the contest!
This looks like a great read.
Ok, I am the author’s wife so maybe I’m the teensiest bit biased, but i’ve read the whole thing and I can tell you: you won’t be able to put it down. USA Today called it “Fascinating…and oh-so-colorful.” (btw, don’t enter me in the contest – i get a freebie from the author). See you at the SHOT Show, Julie
Looks like a good book.
I have the strangest feeling some of you are postin with different names and emails lol. I’d love to get a read through of this book though!
Always grateful for having and exercising my constitutional rights!
Can’t wait to give it a read.

Love me some guns that always go bang! The things you know if almost killed me from laughing so hard!
Awesome job on the blog, keep up the good work!!
The only pistol I ever owned was a Glock 21. Had to sell it in ’97, to gun store, during some financial hardtimes. I miss it every day.
My first pistol that I purchased was a Springfield XDM-9 which I now regret buying. After shooting my best friend dad’s G17 Gen 2 and trying to find a left hand holster for the XDM, I wish I bought a glock. Awesome blog and keep up the great work!
Thank you for the chance at winning one of these books.
I look forward to reading this book.
Another Glock fanboy interested in the book!
I have Glock 19 and love it!! I am thinking of buying another Glock… money money money…
Thanks for the chance, keep up the good work!
Keep up the good work!
