Either step your game up, or retire:
Skip to 50 seconds if you don’t want to hear someone say “lord” what seems like about 50 times in a lengthy prayer.
The video was filmed at the Knob Creek machine gun shoot this past fall. Long time followers of this blog might remember that I’m not a fan of Steve Lee (see HERE and HERE). Just when I thought the music and lyrics couldn’t get any worse, he pulls this preachy lil’ number out of his ass.
He looks like a small guy, but for the love of god lean into it when you’re shooting. The recoil is making him its bitch so many times throughout the video…
Thoughts?

Meh, he’s still my favorite Aussie. Before Paul Hogan. Now if Steve Irwin was still alive…
God damn this guy sucks. Is that really what passes for music in Australia?
That was almost enough to make me hate guns. Almost.
What a wanker.
It’s a good thing I don’t go to these things. The prayer looks like it would be a good time to get my sights zeroed while nobody else is using the range.
I’m baffled as to why there isn’t an RSO standing behind and bracing these knuckleheads. 1:57 scares the shit out of me, in addition to the rest of the asswhoopin’ recoil.
“Lord, please give the Aussie the Lord’s strength necessary to handle the demon recoil, Lord. Lord? Lord?”
I don’t particularly like his songs, other than “I like guns” but I appreciate his enthusiasm for the topic.
I’ve been to Knob Creek twice (have two YouTube vids to prove it :) and loved it both times and felt completely safe there.
Yup, you have quite a few people who’ve never handled full auto let alone stuff that only goes bang once per trigger pull, but somehow, year over year everyone leaves with the exact number of holes they arrived with.
Wow, tough crowd. I think Steve and Mike are both number one!!!!! Ok, so iy is numerically impossible. I like guns….I like soft Tee shirts na na na na !
hahah nice song Richard.
I’m not a fan of this one, but why the hate? I’m in accordance with Aaron; he’s an enthusiast. This song is pretty weak, but I’ll admit I got a kick out of “I Like Guns”.
I don’t really see that his work is bringing bad press to gun owners (except for perhaps being able to point at dubious music tastes). He’s not running high-speed, super tactical operator courses for operating operators with classes in “Derp,” “Herp-Derp,” and “Wow, Really?” He’s not NDing into his own leg. He’s not shooting up schools or selling firearms illegally (as far as I know). So again, why the hate? Let him preach his piece to his crowd and save the vitriol for jack-asses that really deserve it.
I don’t think he’s bringing bad press either. But my point is that I can play guitar and piano, and I can make noise with my mouth but I’m not making up terrible sounding preachy songs about guns. Maybe that’s my first mistake though… hehe
As a firearm enthusiast and musician… I have to give Steve Lee credit for trying. With that being said, I can’t say I’m a fan of this song. The lyrics are out of time, the music is cookie cutter, and i feel like every song is identical. I’m also not sure anyone would know who he was without the tall man from TN.
His music is terrible. The lyrics are childish, at best… maybe he’s collaborating with Raffi! I’ve been playing guitar since I was 15 (about 16 years), and a little piano too, and I’m embarrassed for this guy. But he reminds me of the people that post their stuff on Youtube and don’t realize that they suck! If the terrible music and lyrics weren’t bad enough, this guy can’t sing his way out of a paper bag! He must have his own source of capital to fund these videos, because he doesn’t have much, if any, talent.
‘I like guns’ was fun, but he really needed to leave it there. Terrible… in so many ways, I guess he’s cashing in on some noteriety in the hardcore gun-culture community. Hell, most of em are probably deaf anyway, so if they dig it, more power to em and Steve for that matter.
But yeah… bloody awful! :-)
I don’t really care for that song, but I thought “I like guns” was tasteful.
As for the guy praying… if you don’t like the way they do things in Kentucky, start your own shoot in the PRK or wherever you are from. Otherwise, I say you fit into the category of the internet troll… complain about how somebody else does things but lack the _____ to do it yourself.
Start our own shoots because of a prayer? How about we just criticize the existing shoots? :P I’m really indifferent to the fact they pray at Knob Creek, but I thought the repetitive nature of the prayer in the video was funny.
Actually, I was thinking the same thing. I am by no means a religious man, but instead of going apeshit over it, it seems like the respectful thing to do would be to allow the locals and patrons (who seem predominantly christian) do their thing and just sit there quietly. I mean seriously.
