This is awesome:
Reminds me of the Tyco Fast Traxx my buddy Karan had we were growing up. The iRobot 110 is everything I hoped it would be, but wasn’t. The Fast Traxx was fragile, hard to control, had a terrible battery life, and was easy to lose once it got more than a few feet away from you.
The iRobot 110 would have brought our childhood spy missions to another level. I hoping this will be available to the civilan market for less than a couple thousand, and i’ll pick one up for sure. Just give me the ability to control it from my Motorola Xoom Android tablet.
The only thing the iRobot 110 seems to be missing is a weapon of some type. Because as is, if you toss that thing into a building with a bunch of bad guys, they are just going to pick it up and throw it back at you or else put a bullet through it.

That thing makes a freaking lot of noise going down stairs. I have a hard time believing it would be very cost effective if it keeps getting shot, which is what would happen if anyone in that building heard/saw it. A very small helicopter would probably be a better option since it is more maneuverable and much harder to shoot.
Why shoot at it when you can swat it down? :/
And the damned thing won’t vacuum my floors when not in battle mode?
When it fell down the stairs I could only imagine a group of bad guys unloading in the irobot’s general direction. It needs a speaker and microphone so a user can communicate with it. One of the options of such ought to be voice masking or the soothing voice of Stephen Hawking. Either that or Optimus Prime’s voice.
It also needs to be able to self-destruct, with a 5 meter kill radius.
You wouldn’t ordinarily just launch it down the stairs. You fold out the little “arms” and slowly go down.
And i seccond giving it a loudspeaker. Just fucking with the enemy “Heloo i see youuu :D”.
Distract them with a robot while other guys move in :3
I actually suspect that whoever the irobot was sent to spy on would sooner run from it than pick it up.
Seriously, to the uninformed, I suspect they’d see it as a bomb.
i frigging need this thing!!
