If you haven’t seen those movies make sure to buy or rent them ASAP:
Collateral:
Heat:
Miami Vice:
Michael Mann doesn’t mess around when it comes to firearm related realism. If you guys have any more vids for me to add to this list let me know.
AHHHH Val Kilmer called magazines clips in the Heat video haha.
It’s pretty neat to see how seriously some actors (and directors) take their craft. Doesn’t hurt to be paid millions of dollars too though.

This is from PACT timers about Miami Vice (TV) and Jim Zubiena. I don’t know if it applies. It also mentions sending James Caan to Gunsite for the movie Thief.

Interesting stuff, thanks for the link Miguel!
I literally just watched the first two videos a day or two ago, doing research for a class assignment. It’s almost like synchronicity that they showed up on my favorite blog.
GET OUTTA MY HEAD @_@
Heheh crazy! What are you taking in school? Sounds a lot more exciting than the crap I had to do.
Collateral was an amazing movie. WAAAAAYYYYYYY underrated.
Great post – thanks for sharing the videos
Caan was supposed to go to Gunsite but when Cooper found out he was going to portray a villan he refused to teach him, i belive Clint Smith the provided the training of site.
Kilmer also called the Marine Corps the “army” :).
I love Mann’s dedication to realistic feeling gunfights and tactical shenanigans. In fact Miami Vice was a let down for me after the relentless feel to Collateral and Heat.
Jamie Foxx’s right hand is wrapped up in that last video. Victim of slidebite I presume.
Hehe yea good call… that’ll teach him! :P
