Yeah, you’re right. I have synthetic stocks on both the AK variants we own, but that’s partially because the original wood was the laminated crap instead of solid wood. If they hadn’t been plywood, it would have been a MUCH harder decision for me to switch to synthetic.

Is that a pair of type 3’s? A worn finish does look the best on an AK, or maybe a Remington 870…
