Gamer V.S. Real Soldier – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Jason Bradbury takes on a real SAS solider on the worlds first full scale version of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 pit level:

Very interesting idea, and pretty nicely executed… even if it is staged.

As SayUncle pointed out, the gun is a GSG-5 (which is a .22LR) not a H&K MP5 (9mm)… huge difference.

  1. Going along with Linoge, they should have reversed it would have been a lot more interesting.

The only problem I can see with that, is that it takes time to learn how to use the controller properly. Going off of what you guys are saying… I actually think it would be best if the host was just to do both the real life, and the game version himself. Though I suppose cardio fitness and breath control would greatly effect the average gamers shooting of a real gun… so having the host run around and jump off stuff probably would have been a complete fail.

So a guy sitting in a couch playing a map he’s had much practise on beat an SAS soldier with (presumably) no practise? I could have told you who would win.

yea, too bad the targets were not shooting back. That would have been a good way to compare because it wouldn’t have relied only on marksman ship and speed.

  3. The only surprising thing here was how close the SAS soldier got to the gamer’s time.

      Yea that was pretty impressive.

  4. in real life gamer would have got his head blown off if he went in guns blazing like that, the sas guy took out most of targets from crouched stance

I agree. The soldier could have cut off a lot of time by throwing caution to the wind and using the same method as the gamer.

This sounds interesting, but it seems to be blocked in the UK. Anyone got an alternate link?

I tried to look directly on the tv shows website for you, but it doesn’t appear to be up on there :(

  6. video games, no matter how realistic, never use proper tactics. In fact, if you properly pie your corners in “army of two” you can beat several levels without getting shot at at all.

my vote for live fire course champ? me. I play the hell out of Modern Warfare, and I have a Ruger 10/22 with a T-1 that would be about on par with that GSG.

Nice. Thats an expensive optic for a 10/22! Is yours tricked out besides that? or did you keep it basic?

      1. actually, I added a tapco stock to make it a “ar-15” trainer, until I just bit the bullet and bought a KAC SR-15. The optic usually lives on that.

  7. 35.8? Mine is 27.2. That’s pretty sad.

    Also, it was unbalanced.
