What rifle are they holding? It looks like some kind of AK variant.

Looks like it doghair. I don’t consider myself any sort of authority on the AK or variants so I won’t even attempt a guess at the particular model.

Behold: the third-world version of clowns in a circus car.

haha yea. That guy up top with the binoculars is probably looking for people to take out that are laughing at them.
PD
That’s not third world version of clowns in a circus car. That’s the dare devils on wheels – the Jaanbaaz Team of BSF(Border Security Force) in various formations on their 350 cc Bullet Royal Enfield Motorcycles on the Republic Day parade of India. As for the rifle they are holding, Its the standard issue for Indian Military and para-military forces, the INSAS rifle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INSAS_rifle.

Thanks for the info PD.
It was hard to do any research when I didn’t know what the heck was going on in the picture. I guess for parade purposes it’s cool… but really why does Border Protection guard need to possess the skills to ride on a motor cycle with 7 other grown men?
PD
Well, the skills are not required per se, as part of their profile. I guess it’s like those stunt teams in all the air-forces who show off their skills in various air shows. Like you said, for parade purposes, it’s cool. :)

I’m sure the budget for that has to be less than the budget for something like the Golden Knights from the US Army, or any of the other flying teams. If you can’t afford jets and stuff, find something else cool to do. Good job India!
