I saw this story floating around, but figured it was too stupid to be real… Nope, it’s real.

As you can see in the above video, Elmer Fudd is running after Bugs Bunny with a scythe, dynamite etc.  Since it’s 2020, that’s apparently acceptable.. but him running after Bugs Bunny with a gun isn’t.

You can read the full NY Times article if you care to, but here’s the part about the missing guns from Peter Browngardt, the series executive producer:

The old “Looney Tunes” violence is here, too: the sticks of dynamite, the intricate booby traps, the anvils and bank safes dropped on unsuspecting heads.

“We’re not doing guns,” Browngardt said. “But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in.”

Not like I was going to watch Loony Tunes anyways but wow.. painful, painful times we’re living in.
