Jessie Duff For Taurus Firearms

A single tear rolled down my cheek when she left Glock.  It’s pretty obvious she can crush it in the shooting and looks department no matter what company she’s at though so I’m not mad.

I’m assuming that PH Factor of 9 means her 1911 is chambered in 9mm. (Blasphemy!!!)

Thoughts?  Does she make you want to buy a Taurus?

  1. I have two camps in my group when it comes to Taurus. 1) I will never buy a Taurus. 2) I will never buy a Taurus, again.

    1. I’ve seen a third: I have a Taurus from back when they made mostly Smith and Wesson clones. It works almost as well as an actual Smith. Almost.

I have a taurus pt1911 and I’ve owned a Taurus pt92 in the past (phenomenal gun) I really can’t say anything bad about taurus when comparing it to any of my other guns (mostly springfields) but i still kinda say I own a Taurus under my breath or with my head down. Now that Jessie duff shoots for Taurus I have a renewed faith in them and can say it with more pride lol. She just took a steel championship with a Taurus. But seriously don’t let anyone talk you out of a taurus like the pt92 over a baretta. Idk if there will come a point where you find a difference in performance, Taurus does make great guns for 100s less.

    1. “You will always hear people ask if a Taurus is as good as a Beretta, but you will never hear people ask if a Beretta is as good as a Taurus.” Food for thought.

  3. She shoots a $5k plus SVI race gun with the Taurus logo laser engraved on the slide at most matches. Wonder why they wanted to sponsor her?

    1. Actually she used one of the Taurus 9mm 1911s at the steel challenge. I am sure that it had a lot more work then a box stock model, but that is typically of all 1911s.

      1. Oh yeah I bet it did.

  4. She always makes me think about that phrase ‘No matter how hot she is, someone somewhere is sick of her shit’ And i assume shes a real competition driven pain in the ass that only lets you have missionary style sex once a year on your birthday. What else would drive your husband to bang your 13yr old coworker?

Pretty good thirty second spot. Nice looking girl who has a lock on that 1911.

Difficult to discern if she’s a bitch. Not all successful, driven people are self-absorbed narcissists.

  7. Yeah, she used a 9mm PT1911 to win a world championship of some sort recently

My first pistol was a PT99, it’s their version of a PT92 but with ajustable sights, and when I bought it the PT99 was $400, the beretta was $600, so being a broke ass 20-something I saved the $200, but no mater what I did it wouldn’t feed JHP for shit, and some times would hang up loading FMJ’s into the chamber. On top of that I couldnt find a single person, myself included, who could hit the broadside of a barn with it. Added with the fact it would not take M9 mags, but only exspenise hard to find taraus mags, I kept it for a couple of years, stopped shooting it all together, and then traded it. I liked the feel, I liked the safety decocker, the keyed safety lock on the back strap was cool if your a pussy, and it was affordable, but it would hang up even with OCD attention given to cleaning and lubing, and when it ran it was all over the place. I don’t miss it at all, but I have been giving a lustful eye to the 92FS’s at my local gun store…. Those dirty sexy Italians…

    1. I have a 20 year old PT92 and it has none of the issues you describe. It feeds any JHP I’ve put in it (easily a couple thousand over the years), mine’s accurate in my hands, and both factory and Mec-Gar magazines are easy to find and affordable. I just got flush 18 round Mec-Gars for $20.

I clean it and lube it about every 1000 rounds or so (multiple range trips) and it never malfunctions. In fact, the only issue I’ve EVER had is light primer strikes with TulAmmo. It’s my nightstand gun and I trust it 100%.

      1. I should say I lube it after every range trip, but clean it every 1000 rounds or so.

        1. Bebopwing Avatar

Don’t know what to tell ya. I seem to have no problems with glocks and sprigfields, I cleaned mine after every range trip, and I wanted to like it, my pt99 just never did it for me.

  9. I have owned 7 or 8 Tauriii. I don’t have one now.

Their design and ergonomics are very good. Their quality control and customer service were awful. If you got a good gun out of the box, it would run well. If you got a problem gun(3 of mine were), then it was a pain to get them fixed. Once they were fixed, they were accurate and reliable.

  10. I have a PT1911SSAR. Ran perfectly with ball, rare problems with things like Speer 200’s. Quick touch with Dremel buffing wheel, 100%. Price was superb, weapon is now excellent. Out of the box it was better than several friends Kimbers. I think all the complaints you’ve heard are from “way back when”. Taurus has done a really good job in the tuning over the years. I had the slide ionbonded, VZ Ops2 grips, polished the sear engagement a tiny touch to drop the trigger pull to about 4 lbs, and it is one of my absolute favorite carry guns. As for holding my head up when I say it’s a Taurus? I do. Fine piece, mine. I have had nothing but good to say about it, and if you want to go do a shooting comparison we can do that!

  11. And she is just finer than fine!

  12. as if any bint running her T&A could persuade me to make a gun purchase…
    right nasty looking bint too…
no thank you, there is a reason no reputable local gun-shop will stock or even special order Taurus products, I’ll leave it to your imagination what that reason is…

    1. Oh but if I went ’round sayin’ I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they’d put me away.

    2. Reputable gun shops….uhmm
      Buds
      Kentucky Gun
      Gander
      Bass Pro
      Cabela’s
and a host of other local main line dealers
If you think that Taurus isn’t producing a good product today, you have your head in the sand.

  13. She is pretty as hell. I’d dilute her genes.

But would I ever own another Taurus product? Not a fucking chance in hell.

  15. When people excitedly tell me they bought a cool new gun; I immediately know they just bought a Judge.
Then I fake emotional interest until I can end the conversation.

  16. When I was a little lad, I owned a licensed Taurus airsoft pistol. The experiences from that alone made me never buy another Taurus anything.

  17. Taurus haters suck. I love all guns unlike glock cocks, carry on fools.

I own a couple Taurus pistol’s and they are great guns with a lifetime warranty glock and beretta that i no of only stand behind there’s for 2 years. So people just because alot of taurus guns aint 600 or more bucks don’t mean they aint quality gun’s so carry on and hater’s well just hate.

  19. Cuban Pete Avatar

Taurus are fine guns. Not great, but ok. For the price you get a good deal.

Now….I would never buy one, but if you gave me one for free, I’d keep it.

  20. I love people who complain about Taurus and have never fired one. “Well my brothers girl friends sisters uncles friend had one and he shot it one time and it blew into so many pieces that he could not even show it was a Taurus to get his money back!”

I own 20+ guns from many makers 5 are Taurus, I have never had a problem with any of them. All mechanical things are prone to failure, proper maint and cleaning can go a long way.

    1. She looks more like a porn star named Jessica Jaymes….Google it ;)

  21. Jessie Duff is definitely easy on the eyes. The fact that she is an extremely talented shooter makes me like her even more. I don’t know her personally so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she is a good woman. Judging someone you don’t know and making negative comments based on their looks and/or brand affiliation is ignorance in it’s purest form.

I own a Taurus Raging Judge Magnum and haven’t got a single complaint it. It shoots 3″ 410’s, 45LC and 454 Casull. A 300 grain 454 has resulted in instant perma-grin on the face of every single person that has asked to shoot it. For what it’s worth, I’ll be buying at least two more Taurus pistols – a 1911 because I’m addicted to 1911’s and a smaller Judge because they are awesome wheel-guns.

Those complaining about Taurus that have never owned or shot one:
You’re not worth listening to or wasting a breath on. Just because you own a particular firearm doesn’t mean every other firearm out there is a “bad” firearm. Bashing a product you’ve never tried for yourself tells me: 1) that you’re bashing just to be negative because you have nothing better to do and/or just like to argue, 2) can’t afford the product so you bash it to make yourself feel better or 3) you own only “high-end” firearms and think that if it didn’t cost “X” amount of dollars or doesn’t have the popular logo/brand-name that it is below you and isn’t worth trying for yourself. It’s a firearm… if it goes bang every time and hits what you’re aiming at, it doesn’t matter who makes it or what you paid for it.

Those who have owned a Taurus in the past and have complaints about the firearm and/or customer service:
You should try or buy a new Taurus before their popularity and prices both go up. Taurus has come a long way. I can remember when Savage had a horrible reputation and no one wanted one – nowadays Savage is making some quality firearms and their reputation has improved greatly. Taurus has a lifetime warranty that stays with the gun – buy a used one and the warranty is still good. If it isn’t right, Taurus will make it so. Every company out there has had and will continue to have a few “lemons” get out the door. A lemon is definitely aggravating – especially if the manufacturer won’t make it right. A company that stands behind their product and does everything they can to make you happy is hard to find in this day and age – Taurus is now one of those companies.

Those who have recently purchased a Taurus and are not happy with it:
Contact Taurus customer service – they will make it right. Now if you let “Dremel Dan” polish your feed ramp or make any other modifications then the fault is yours. It’s funny how people buy a brand new firearm and immediately want to start changing/fixing/modifying things before they even fire a single round. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

Stop by TaurusArmed.net and have a look. There is a section called “Taurus Product Problems” that is dedicated to problems, fixes and customer service experiences. TaurusArmed is not run by Taurus. I am not affiliated with Taurus in any way other than being a very satisfied Taurus owner. There are also sections for discussing non-Taurus firearms. We(myself and all of the other members there) love all firearms regardless of make/caliber. Flaming is not tolerated and doesn’t happen any way. IMHO, it is by far the best firearms forum on the internet. It is just a bunch of really good people that come together to discuss firearms(handguns and long guns regardless of brand name), reloading, different Taurus models, politics, concealed carry and about anything else you can think of. While our opinions on things may vary from time to time, we all realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We discuss things in a respectful manner and treat other members with the same respect we expect from them. On other sites that I have joined but am not active on, a post about your new Kimber 1911 or Mossberg shotgun will result in a thread full of negative comments(which is why I’m not active on them) – that same post on TaurusArmed will result in comments congratulating you on your purchase/acquistion, suggestions/advice from others that actually own the same firearm and/or questions about it. Stop by and check us out.

      Well Stated. Thank you

  22. Taurus is what you get when businessmen and marketting experts design guns and not shooters. They are a textbook example of “you get what you pay for.” Here’s my one and only experience with Taurus as I shot my brand new Taurus. People who say “mine shoots fine” miss the point that they are not an accurate sampling of the Taurus firearms market..they are part of that lucky probably 60% that work. The other nimrods who brag about Taurus’ lifetime guarantee have obviously not had to use that guarantee and seen utter failure and zero customer service.
    My experience: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fDKqlGIxMU

    1. JPMCT, here are my samplings of the Taurus weapons. That is to say, what I own and shoot:
      One PT1911AR, 45 ACP
      Two 1911, 9mm.
      Two PT145
      One 24/7
      One Judge
      One UltraLite .38 special revolver.
      One PT738

I have had absolutely no problems with any of them. None of them have experienced a FTF or FTE. Were someone to ask me, I would have nothing but good things to say about Taurus products.
I have to add this, however. While Taurus has a great warranty, it is no secret among Taurus fans that the service department is not what we wish it were. They say they are working on that problem. I hope they get it up to speed.

  23. Lol @ all the butthurt Taurus fanboys.

  24. Jessie Duff is the football cheerleader of professional shooters. She was clearly chosen by Taurus to attract the young guy and value conscience guy to the Taurus brand. Once you become the best at shooting it appears Smith and Wesson will sponsor you. I traded for a Taurus 9 MM many years ago. It was OK gun. I did not put that many rounds through it. I traded it or sold it for a Glock. Just like the other guy said I would take a Taurus if you gave it to me but I would not buy one of the guns they now sell I dont think. I would like to shoot some to see what they are like but none of my friends have one to shoot.

  25. You aren’t an “accurate sampling” either, idiot lol! Great guns, great company. Some boys like to be like the rest of their little friends (getting old and no one cares about the high school championship anymore, I wager), so they have to spend more on Glocks and 1911s. At least the 1911 purchases make a kind of sense.

Poor boys… You go ahead and keep spending $550+ on Tupperware. The rest of us can enjoy shooting without you.

  26. You people that hate Taurus don’t know what you’re talking about. I have have had an issue with my Taurus 99 and have seen Beretta FTE and FTF at IDPA matches.

    1. should be “never had”

Looks to me like she knows how to use a GOOD TAURUS and not afraid to use it either . Sounds like a smart person ! TAURUS !! Best gun with BEST warranty on the market ! Don’t be afraid to use one !!

  28. I have a Taurus 24/7. Have owned it for 3 years now….has over 15000 rounds through it. I use it to teach Cadets to shoot….ZERO problems! Made in 2006 I paid $206 for it….In others hands it could be a competition shooters gun!

  29. My first pistol purchase Gen 3 PT111 CA. 300rds threw it and love it.Will be putting another 400rds threw it tomorrow. I have shot others (xd9c/SR40) both shoot well. They ONLY issue I have is that the sights are combat sights and not 6 0’clock hold.

  30. I have been trying to join the Taurus Bashers Club, but am having lousy success. I own nine hand guns made by Taurus/Rossi, but none of them do a thing but consistently and accurately send lead down range.
Next week, I am picking up a Rossi Wizard. With any luck, it will be a crappy rifle, giving me the proper creds to join the club. I doubt it will happen, though. Some guns live on hype, some live in spite of bad rumors.

    1. Update.

The Wizard is a fun little rifle to shoot. My only complaint is the break latch is pretty stiff, making it a bit difficult for ejecting spent cases and reloading a bit difficult. The problem might be with me as I have had several hand injuries, so I am not sure if I qualify for the Taurus Bashers Club.

  31. Purchased .380 and one of the magazines was defective.

Wellllll. so far it has been 6 months and customer service CAN NOT and WILL NOT give me ANY delivery date. Quote ” It’s on back order and ydo will get it someday.” This as of 2.4.2013 @ 13:58cst
PUT ME IN CLASS TWO. i WILL NEVER BUY A TAURUS AGAIN.

    STEVE IN HOUSTON

  32. It’s not only how well the weapon functions, customer service is important to me so I will never buy a Taurus based on the experience of friends and what I have read here.

I bought a Taurus once; it’s a piece of crap. As soon as I verify that it’s legal in my state, I’m going to cut the frame in half and throw it in the trash. I’ve made it my life’s work to warn prospective Taurus customers that if they will be purchasing nothing more than a glorified paper weight.

    1. I hate them now after dealing with Taurus customer service. They can do almost nothing for you at all. I mean nothing. They look at the notes in the ticket but in the end they offer no help at all. There is no path to getting a replacement gun. There are no upgrade options on your broken gun there is simply some rep that tells you we still have it here for repairs. I may never see my gun again. I will never purchase another one and I too have told at least 100 people to stay clear of these guns.

Own five Taurus in three calibers…as good a firearm as ANY on the market.
What I find is that ANYONE who pays $1500 or more for a 1911 because of
the name on it is a snob and shouldn’t be allowed to buy a Taurus. My one Beretta
shattered its slide and the company told me where to buy another.

  35. I hate Taurus now. They have had my PT709 Slim more than I have had my gun. I mean that literally. The quality is so poor I would be ashamed to be sponsored by this company. So I am on the third month of waiting for a gun to be repaired and I finally understand why they have a life time warranty. I thought it meant they would repair the gun forever … now I understand they just intend to keep it forever. I can’t even sell the gun if I get it back because I would feel guilty that it would most likely break again soon. I think I may find someone I really don’t like and give it to them. Its kind of a mean thing but kind of funny too. Wonder if my in laws need a gun?

  36. For what it’s worth. I am a liscensed gunsmith and a FFL. So I repair sell , repair and sell some more. So I handled all the 1911’s on a daily or weekely basis and tear apart their insides. The Taurus 1911 is the best “bang for buck” 1911 on the market period! Now I didn’t say it was the best 1911. I said is was most gun for the money. The fit and finsih is better then most guns at their price point. It’s every bit as good as kimber, springfield, remington, even colt in those same model price range’s give or take a 100 bucks. Now if you are comparing to say the springfield range officer or trophy match gun or smith n wesson eleite or performance level guns then no they are not equal. But then again they are not at the same price point either. With any firearm manufacture the easiest way to cut cost with out effecting quality is labor. Browning and winchester are made in belgum Turkey, and Japan. Colt is now owned by umarex plus they own walther h &k uzi and a bunch more. Before you say don’t confuse me with the facts my mind is made up here is their link. http://www.umarexusa.com/ Welcome to the world economy. So nothing wrong with taurus guy’s and if you look and taurususa.com and read their history they owned a division of smith n wesson and beretta and both of them sourced parts from taurus used in their guns. Some camaro guy’s the mustang is crap and ford trucks are better than dodge trucks. Buy what you like that’s what you can afford. Someone who reads is going to say I wouldn’t trust my life to a Taurus but if a sling shot and a marble saved your life you would be extremly greatful. Tha’s like saying I wouldnt take a ride from a guy in a mustang in the dessert or puring down rain if theor camaro broke down, grow up lol…

I have never had to deal with customer service and hope i never have to but all the weapons i have possessed have all been used never new and the only pistols i still have are the taurus pt24/7 pro the 1911 and the pt92 the rest have been sold due to unreliability factors .iam not knocking any of them but personal experience iam sticking with the taurus they have proven them selves to me and really i stopped caring about what people say cause over half of dont know what they are talking about and are just compulsive complainers any .thats just how i feel
