Celebrating 50 years of 007 with a new watch, and by trolling us with this:
Does anyone that’s not less than 12 years old actually think that the whole cartridge fires out of the barrel? Something I’d expect from a smaller company, not Omega.
The whole animation can be viewed right on the homepage of Omega’s website or here:
I know some of you are going to cry “Artistic license!” … to that I say “PuhLeeeeez”.
Again… not a “bullet”. I’m glad I ditched my Omega Seamaster for a Rolex Submariner.
Thoughts? How long do you think it will be until they realized their mistake and change it?

Maybe they used a portal turret to do the shooting.

They use the whole bullet! Thats 65% more bullet, per bullet!
I’m glad I’m not the only one that immediately thought of that.
More of a Casio guy myself
Hurr durrr… great ad guys. Real 007 fans if you don’t even know how a fucking bullet works. Nice.
I have the original Seamaster, not the Bond edition….and frankly I love it….but WTF is the point in a look a like casing in the back…and 007 Bond all over it….tasteless.
“I need a lot of gadgets, because I carry a shit gun”
The design is cool, but totally disconnected from “real” firearms…
Maybe it was shot from a Hi Point? It’s been know to happen… :)
Maybe it’s a bullet from one of the Portal turrets. They fire the whole cartridge. (talking about the game Portal)
Wow! You have a Rolex?! So Awesome. So Glad you made that switch too. Awesome move. That’ll teach stupid Omega. Yeah.
You’re full on mad and jelly bro.
LOL. You noticed that as well.
He he, Now some poor web developer / graphic artist needs to remake the animation.
It could have been fired by an Israeli produced gun. They are know to shoot the entire bullet.

^^This^^
That poor old lady will forever be traumatized by being given free bullets.
My mistake though, she was Iraqi and not Palestinian.
Good luck getting that bullet watch past the tsa
I can maybe forgive it since it looks like the cartridge base
is incorporated in to the underside of the watch. So, the
whole bullet fired at the watch, but leaves the base on the
underside. A stretch, I know, but it makes sense when demonstrating
the design touch on the watch.
Why couldn’t the spent brass from the fired round have fell downward towards the ground where the watch was sitting in the animation? That would have been just as cool, but yet accurate to real life.
Don’t lose too much sleep over this one guys.
+1 million.
Don’t lose too much sleep over a large company doing something retarded related to guns? OH SLEEP WILL BE LOST, you can count on that. :P
And to top it off, when the cartridge enters the back of the watch, it changes spin direction and spins counter to the “rifling” engraved on the back of the watch. Classic.
Large companies don’t give a shit, designing this piece of jewerly and creating the visual must have cost already something like the yearly income of Kenya, they’re not gonna change it.
When Audi launched its new R8 with electric engines, called the Audi R8 e-tron, someone pointed out that they should change the name, because “étron” literally means “turd” in French. They didn’t change it, they don’t really care…
ahhaha I didn’t know about htat e-tron story, that’s hilarious.
I’m guessing the graphic artists turned in a commercial with just the bullet leaving the gun, and some exec said “leave the shiny part on, it will look better”
Though it is obviously still inaccurate, the animation at least makes sense in why they left the casing intact.
Might have been on purpose. I mean, would we be talking about it otherwise?
Well, I agree from a standpoint of technical detail the video is wrong, however if one wished the end result to show the 9mm cartridge case in the back of the watch, replete with primer, it is acceptable. Besides that if one actually fired 9mm hardball into the back of a watch, even a Rolex, you would end with something like a melon after facing Galligher’s Mallet. Would not make me want to pay a premium for a fictional spy’s wristwatch, I don’t care if it is a Omega or Rolex. Hell most of us don’t even have a watch anymore, with all the cellphones, I-pods, tablets, laptops, etc. Redundancy.
well, my 2 cents.
Cheers my friends.
Rick.
They should have at least made the animation look like they were loading the bullet into the watch like a gun… well i take that back seeing that the “rifling” on the back of the watch implies the thing is loaded in backwards. I was trying to be generous, but this is kind of a fail LOL.
My time intensive internet search has at the end of the day been recognized with awesome concept to exchange with my friends and classmates.
