Fails from day 1 of the DARPA robotics challenge:
haha it’s like they showed up drunk. Not quite Chappie levels of agility yet. If it’s anything like the movies though, these robots will definitely have the last laugh when they turn on mankind and try to kill us all.
There’s a short article at IEEE Spectrum which you can read. Some of the comments are pretty funny / butthurt.

This kind of stuff is in the hundreds of man-years to develop. Kind of have to feel bad for the college kids (undergrads do a lot of the work on these projects) who spent long nights and weekends on this shit just to see it fall over.
I for one welcome our new robotic overlords!
Blocked already. . .
Back now lucas!
Damn that was a quick block. So what cylon models are these exactly :)
Yesssss, it’s back!
It was possibly blocked for a BS copyright claim. Likely some other channel stole the video then put a copyright on it so they could claim it as their own.
I believe it was actually on the IEEE Spectrum YouTube page!
Yes, some foreign youtube channel most likely stole the video then copyright claimed it. This is becoming a big problem on youtube. There was TONS of people stealing SHOT show videos and reposting them to pull hits, this is the ultimate cock block for youtube hits.
Ugh that’s brutal :/ I had no idea that was possible.
Claim has thankfully been removed. Yeah it’s an automated process so all you need to do is steal a video, put a copyright on it, then report it.
So anyone else find it funny darpa says well give you a few dollars to make this for us then we’ll buy the rights and make millions if not billions of monies on your product which youll never recive a dime for and if you dnt sign over rights they just take your research and improve it by putting a few more LED lights on it lol then its a totally diffrent product and not yours and you get nothing so fucked up
Come on Skynet, get your shit together.
That robot @ 0:55 copied your patented “Can’t Even” patch move. No wonder that copyright infringement claim came in quick!
