There is so much derp in this, I don’t even know where to begin:
0:48 – 3D printed guns have been outlawed? Sure the ones made entirely of plastic violate the Undetectable Firearms Act, but that’s why you put the metal cube in the Liberator 3d printed handgun for instance.
3:32 – LOL they go talk to Senator “Ghost Gun” Kevin De Leon. A ghost gun has the ability with a .30 caliber clip to disperse a 30 magazine clip full of bullets in half a second, guys in case you didn’t know. OMG “untraceable assault weapons”. This guy is so clueless… Selling the “ghost guns” to cartels? K, if guys are actually doing that, you think your pissy little law is going to stop them? Ever heard of “ATF Project Gunrunner” senator? Look it up dickhead.
6:28 – Dimitri has a pretty badass looking III with a snake and stars neck tattoo. Dimitri “0 Fucks” Karras.
7:30 – “Dimitri may not be breaking the law, but with an arsenal of ads like this one (shown). It’s safe to say he’s walking a thin line.” *eye roll*
Dimitri held his own on this… props. I wonder if he mentioned ATF’s Project Gunrunner, but VICE just edited it out? Seems like it would have fit in perfectly when they asked him a few of those questions.
9:26 – If VICE found out about ARMSlist their minds would literally be blown. LOL like not passing a background check means you need to “make your own”… GTFO.
9:45 – Was the John Zawahri AR-15 he used in the shooting actually a “ghost gun”, or did he just assemble it from parts?
10:18 – Wow, Debra is lucky she’s alive.
13:14 – haha the #Zerofucksgiven sticker footage on something inside ares armor.

The thing that really upsets me is the attitude of the Vice guy. I tries as hard as he can to look unbiased and cool with what he is shown, interested in hearing both sides of the story, but you just can see that he wanted to prove a point from the beginning, and that everything he shows has a goal.
Agreed.
Currently watching it, but from the trailer the one thing that irks me is “building a gun”. The ignorant will attribute that simply assembling a gun from parts is “building it”, and that language is potentially harmful to all parties.
Yea definitely. Hence my question on that John Zawahri AR-15.
Try as I might, I’ve NEVER been able to find a legitimate photo of Zawahri’s AR15 assembled, or the lower receiver itself. Police evidence photos only show the upper receiver/mags/vest/etc.
This is the only picture I’ve found of the AR15 in question:

One of the news stories I read said that he had an additional upper, as well. From what I can tell, that is what was laid out on the table with the magazines in this picture:

VICE was built by a Canadian. What did you expect?
I didn’t think anyone still took Vice seriously. I remember back when it was a freebie magazine you’d get from record stores and full of reviews of terrible music and pictures of hipsters doing coke with scrawny chicks wearing snowboarding goggles. Also when will this Karras guy go away, I’m pretty tired of his 8th grade pranks. At least he’s not plugging his 99.9976421475% lowers this time.
They do interesting interviews, and often have the balls to go to really shitty parts of the world to report on stuff you’ve never heard of. For that I give Vice respect. But I feel like their content quality is about 40/60 good/bad and that ratio is quickly getting worse as they expand. They employ a handful of insufferable pricks who should never be let in front of a camera, this dude included.
It’s amazing that they managed to build a freebie music zine into a multibillion dollar media juggernaut in such a short period of time.
Yep, they have the balls to go to shitty places sometimes.
About 75% of everything they show is staged or otherwise set up to get the desired effect, that should be quite obvious, including hiring actors.
This is precisely what I have been saying for my 15 minutes of fame, casper guns are too dangerous for normal people and should have remained in the 1700s when our founding fathers used them + violence to solve tyranny which I now what to bring back cause that shits trendy and my oath to defend the constitution is worth as much as my haircut.
My name is K-Dog and I support the total enslavement of all man kind.
Ahahah
Vice jumped the shark a while ago. Sad. They were so damn cool. Guess someone with money/an agenda got to them.
They still produce good stuff occasionally but you have to look around for it. Anymore, it’s shit like this though.
Yep, and that someone’s name is bill maher.
I liked their thing on construction-contracting in Afghanistan, with the US funding incredibly-terrible power plants that are a power/money drain.

Did you just give me a middle name in quotes???? Hahahaha
haha yea! Nice interview btw. Do you follow the blog, or did google alerts bring you here?
I don’t stop by daily. But I’m on your site a couple times a week.
Awesome! haha thanks a lot for the Facebook post too! I thought it was probably you, but facebook directed me to your training page instead of the main one. People’s comments are the best.
Can you see my email address on the back end? If so shoot me an email, ill toss you my number so you have it if you need a comment from me on something in the future.
Yes I can see it. Sounds good, I’ll send you an email soon.
If you’re reading this post by clicking through Facebook, please let me know who posted it! -Thanks!!
I did on the Ares Page.
Came here through Dimitri’s post.
“If VICE found out about ARMSlist or Craiglist their minds would literally be blown.”
out of the over 20 items listed, the very first 2 are:
“Here is a partial list of goods, services, and content prohibited on craigslist:
-weapons; firearms/guns and components; BB/pellet, stun, and spear guns; etc
-ammunition, clips, cartridges, reloading materials, gunpowder, fireworks, explosives”
https://www.craigslist.org/about/prohibited
Whoops my bad on the Craig’s list thing. Thanks for the correction.
In your defense, I have to say I have seen things listed that are not supposed to be listed. Dude was selling his Kimber 1911 plus holster, etc. I didn’t have the cash at the time, or I’d have contacted him. And another guy was selling an AR upper. So, if you look, on occasion you find stuff that isn’t supposed to be on there. They’ll remove it if they find it, or some d-bag flags it.
But, your point remains that VICE would be astonished if they discovered Gunbroker, AuctionArms (now Gunauction.com) or Galleryofguns. Freedom is scary!
i always forget myself. about once a month ill search them for some gun deals until i remember there are none there. you would think the icon of the peace symbol for the shortcut would be a dead giveaway.
I’ve discovered both of the aforementioned deals on craigslist purely by accident. I found the Kimber by looking for holsters (there’s a guy nearby me that makes kydex holsters and other kydex gear and I was trying to find him) and the upper was found only because of the word “upper.” Neither one had the word firearm or gun in their ad.
Coincidentally, ‘gun’ brings up construction equipment (as in nail gun), ‘firearm’ will yield results for CCW training and jobs like private security. Never found a gun ad with those words, though. The closest they ever come is some sort of estate sale.
I’m just wondering why all these guys that do mass shootings always have basic rack-grade ARs with the stock furniture on them.
If video games are supposed to be a leading cause of these dudes committing acts of violence, where are all the tricked out CoD rifles? And why is it always shitty pistols from the early 90s that these dudes are using?
Come on, criminals. It’s 2015. At least get a swanky ejection port cover.
Yea it’s interesting for sure regarding the off the shelf ARs.
Well, logically, if someone were planning to go out and kill people with an “EBR” would it make any sense to spend even more money customizing it and making it all swanky when they’re just going to be taking a dirt nap at the end anyway? The more logical thing to spend the money on would be ammo, mags and a way to carry the ammo and mags. JZ did exactly that. Firearm, check. Magazines and spare ammo, check and check. “Tactical vest” and bag to carry ammo, check, again. Depending upon his resources, what would the point be in upgrading or customizing the rifle when he’s not planning on being around to use it again anyway?
Now, if he had already owned the rifle and happened to go nuts one day and start shooting, it might be different. But like most of these, this was likely a purposeful purchase with one intention. Customization would have been an unnecessary expense and/or delay.
upon further reflection, something comes to mind. reading the comment about vice editing out comments, it makes me wonder.
it is clearly obvious from all of the interviewers questions that he has a complete bias and a clear anti gun direction that he wants the story to go in. however, dimitri is well spoken and does not come across as most of the ignorant backwoods rednecks that these ppl interview to prejudice the story the way they want. this leads me to wonder why they didnt just edit it all out. are they that stupid that they dont realize that dimitri destroying all of their points makes them look idiotic, or are they that arrogant that the honestly cannot see that they are wrong because they refuse to believe it??
Vice has an anti-gun agenda, and unfortunately Dimitri got roped into it.
If I ran a firearms business, I’d carefully vet any media that came by to do an interview. VICE would be on the shortlist of people that wouldn’t be permitted beyond my door.
