Brutalizing A Glock For Functionality

Greg Cruz is a man’s man who doesn’t like his Glock looking soft:

“I want my gun to rough and sharp, so if you put your hand on it and I rip it away from you that I take flesh and fingernails and knuckles with it.  And when I stick it on the side of your head because I need to clear a stoppage, and I rack it on the side of your head there’s something there to grab.”

0-100 real quick.  Greg doesn’t GAF.

When is training for the ULTRA WORST CASE SCENARIO and talking about it all the time just too much, that people quit taking you seriously?  I’m not saying you should care if people take you seriously, because you should just do you fam… however this is almost like zombie post apocalypse derp talk.  Greg seems like a really tough guy and all…. is he constantly getting into hand-to-hand shit with Drexel Spivey looking dudes and stealing their suitcases which he THOUGHT were full of his new wife’s clothes (but turned out to be copious amounts of cocaine), or does Greg just live in a I WISH A MOTHERFUCKER WOULD dream world while he transports his kids from ballet to soccer practice on the reg?  Back when Greg had a “soft Glock” he was probably at Whole Foods, when some hipster tripping off peyote flipped over the kombucha display and there was a tense couple moments when they locked eyes.  Out of that was born the necessary Glock we see in the picture below:

Greg-Cruz-Glock

Smooth v.s. Rough?  Would operate with Greg?  Would operate with Greg’s Glock?

  1. I saw the link in the previous post. No slide lightening, or gold barrel?? 2/10 would not operate with. He probably doesn’t even have notches in his hat, probably doesn’t carry appendix, and probably has never shot a gun with a plastic bag over his head.

Haha I have to start keeping track of all the operational requirements.

          Temple index was so September.

      2. It’s lucky we have ENDO blog to show us the many requirements to operate. I wonder how anyone did it before the interwebs.

No strike bezel on the Surefire. Would not operate.

      +1 good catch

  4. Homies with their pussy “soft” guns don’t know/
When you deal with real G’s, man, that shit’s gotta go/
Edges on your pistol best be sharp as Gilette/
Greg knows what kinda heat to bring, to bring down the threat

He’ll rack his slide off some dude’s head then shoot him in the face/
While his off-side hand grabs his spare mag and slams it into place/
If some gangsta goes to grab Greg’s Glock he’ll shredded like it was a cactus/
… daydreams Greg the dad as he picks up his kid from soccer practice.

    1. *he’s shredded

… Damnit. It could have been perfect.

    2. You sir, are a true wordsmith.

      1. Many thanks.

^But I still have much to learn, Sensei.

  5. Ugly.
    Useless.
    Dangerous.
Big risk of failures out of this.
Looks like my braindead WT ex-girlfriend.
Needless to say I wouldn’t operate with (again) !

why risk of failures? its just a bunch of grooves in the slide, noting to mess with functionality other than the broken slide-stop. skateboard tape on the grip isn’t a bad idea as long as it isn’t your concealed carry gun

This guy makes some sense but he can’t claim to be all about “fighting” with his slide stop altered. You shouldn’t use the slide lock as a slide release but on type 3 malfunctions (double feeds, fte) the slide must be locked open before ripping the mag. Wouldn’t operate with in my mall it at all.

  7. Oh, and by the way, you don’t care about the aesthetic aspects, you’re such a fighter of pure warrior spirit and all, and you carefully avoid to overwrite the 9×19, Glock and Austria markings?
What’s the use in combat? You can try to scare them with that? Or does the lettering offer a better traction when sliding on a skull?

    1. ENDO-Mike Avatar

      I lol’d…. Great point

  8. The best thing he could do to increase his combat survivability is drop 40 pounds.

That glock looks like it was commandeered by Reavers.

  10. That shits fuckin dumb. WOW what a DERPtastic idea….

  11. Not my cup of tea either. He has done his part for this country and is a firearms instructor for a very good group, just FYI.

    1. Bronze star and purple heart…..but yeah a bunch of internet commandos know more.

  12. It’s his gun. He can do what he wants with it. But someone needs to take that Dremel away from him right now.

  13. Not for me. And i never trust the opinion of anyone with that accent. You know who you are…

  14. I’ve done *way* more “tactical” training than the both of those guys combined, and I think Greg is nuts. While it’s good to have some skills for self defense encounters, the Tac Tards just turn it into a lifestyle. Some pudgy middle aged white guy is about 1,000,000 times more likely to have a heart attack while eating at Chick-Fil-A then he is gonna be attacked by ISIS in the Chick Fil-A parking lot.

      Lol me = dead

  15. So I am not sure this thing could shred a soft cheese let alone sking. just look at the screwups on the edges.

apparently from watching the video a “professional Knife maker” did the work for him.

    1. ENDO-Mike Avatar

HAHA yea when I heard “Professional” after seeing the pics I was like 0.o

  16. I wonder how fast that thing is out of a holster. I’d guess not very. Lets see some draw to first hit times for this creation. I’m not very fast at all and I can make 1.3 sec on a 8″ plate at 10 yards with a soft m&p9 pro and Blade Tech Black Ice (uspsa production legal).

    1. Holster? Holsters are for the unprepared. Owners of Ginsu Glocks carry them in their hand at all times.

Follow up video where Greg Cruz talks about his Glock and does some shooting. Turns out its the same as if you sent your gun off to ATEi except way cheaper and waaaay uglier. Still not digging the busted slide stop though…

Definitely a useless followup vid besides the forearm slide rack haha

    1. Oh my.

  19. Using some dudes head to clear a malfunction while locked in hand to hand combat seems like such fantasy land bullshit to me. And the notion that DIY slide serrations would cut up a dudes hand in a retention struggle? I’d say that it’ll do nothing but help said dude maintain a firm grip in said struggle. But what the fuck do I know, I’m flying razor blades to my issue Glock as we speak #oaf

  20. He doesn’t even have a pistol bayonet.

I have as much talent as whomever butchered that slide. To elaborate, the person who did such a horrible job needs to take 5 or so courses at their local tech college before they attempt to customize anything.

  22. The only reasons why the Texans lost the Alamo was the lack of basements and didn’t rough and tough their guns.

  23. This makes the Glock Axe that Mike posted a while ago look like a good idea.

Now first off i dont operate operantionally in operations but i do EDC and never and i mean never would i choose a glock as a battle pistol hk45 tac or fnx 45 tac, for carry glock is just as good as an xdm or any other reliable gun for that matter but as a true battle pistol no Matter what you do with it, there is a reason all race guns aren’t glocks because it’s not nor will it ever be the end all be all gun. And people swear up and down the glock trigger is so nice well fuck that i owned a couple trigger was shoot even when polished a new xd has a better trigger out of the box

    1. All guns should be Glocks.
      All Glocks should be 9mm.
All 9mm Glocks should be Glock 19s.

  25. i think if someone if close enough to grab your Gl(c)ock, you have bigger problems and are better off unclenching, closing your eyes and thinking of England.

  26. That looks like crap. If you are going to do it, at least have someone do it that knows how to use a mill. Those rough edges and tool marks are terrible.

  27. I was cleaning and lubing 2 guns the other day. One was a Lionheart LH9C and the other was a Glock 42. I had gotten a little lube on my fingertips and had trouble racking the slide on the Glock, but the Lionheart was still easy to work – due to a big rear sight I could grab and a fairly weak recoil spring.

So, in a worst case scenario, if I’ve got blood or the like on my hand, that IS going to be an issue, so he’s got a point.

  28. Raoul Duke Avatar

    BLUF:

Whether you want your Glock slide all-serrated or not, it’s indisputable that this milling job is horrifying, and the finishing job is worse.

A drunken monkey must have “customized” this piece.

If you think this gun is cool, may God have mercy on your soul.

  29. Mooney Avatar

I know the man, have held the gun, and know his service record. The beauty of the milling and such is in the eye of the beholder. Extra jagged edges like that have their place. It’s a weapon, not a sculpture. It also allows extra purchase for someone who may not be able to feel the slide due to other circumstances.

I was also there for his Bronze Star ceremony.

He knows his stuff, and has served our Nation well and with honor, dignity, and dedication.

If you knew the person, you wouldn’t doubt much of what he says.

Before judging a man on his appearance, one should judge him on his merits and the limitations his combat experience gave him on our behalf.

He runs a VERY effective and useful training group, and I have had the honor of his friendship and the pleasure to watch his students progress.
