Dom Raso x NRA News:
Initially I found it kind of hard to wrap my head around the concept of a blind person carrying or using a gun. Since my initial exposure to the idea though I’ve developed the opinion which Dom talks about in the video… there is just no good reason not to let them have exactly what the rest of us enjoy and use to protect ourselves.

He mostly changed my mind, and as far as range shooting and whatnot I see few problems, and certainly he’s correct about blind people having the same rights as others, but what happened to knowing what’s behind your target as well? Sure they may be perfectly aware of a threat, but it seems a lot of bystanders are put at potential risk as well
Except that little part about being able to identify your target and that which is beyond.
Many moons ago I RO’d a blind guy shooting at a Glock Match. We had to make some accommodations and he had an assistant that set him up the same way each time to exploit muscle memory.
I was skeptical that he’d hit anything. Boy was I wrong. His hits on the 25 yd 5 to Glock target were better than 50% of the sighted competitors.
As far as I’m concerned, the question is …. Is he an American? If yes, the government has no Consitutionally delegated power to deny that American his right to self-defense or ownership of firearms. Period.
