Jerry Miculek knows his stuff, real talk:
hahah that intro.
Can you image someone tangling with Jerry and trying to draw on / shoot him? It would be movie style humiliation, Jerry would fill them with like 20 holes before the bad guy could get his finger on the trigger.
3:14 – “I’m just a guy who likes a vest” – LOL nice… I’d say that type of vest normally is the biggest giveaway, although Asian tourists rock them all day long so I suppose you just never know.
I really like what Jerry is doing with his YouTube channel. I was being such an ageist when he first started with the channel, and now I feel like a dick. Jerry you give me confidence in more old guys when it comes to technology, videos, guns, and young guy humor.
Thoughts?

I imagine if somebody drew on Jerry, he would do it movie style by shooting the pistol out of their hand and then shooting the belt buckle off them, just to humiliate them.
And that would be after he put in his earpro…
I really appreciate the fact that this guy comes from the time before everybody talked shit all they liked online and he’s a skilled and intelligent person. I think I probably have more time for what he says than anyone else currently talking.
Other than that one time he appeared on “Sons of Guns” I would say he has always handled himself well.
I just looked that episode up, I failed to see how he didn’t handle himself well. It was mostly just him shooting fast, no ridiculous three AR-15s crafted together, a gun flamethrower combination, or any other of the ridiculousness I have heard about the show.
Is it because he actually wanted the Red Jacket rifle? Because in my experience they were known for building pretty good AKs before they got the show. And I don’t see any reason why that stopped just because they got the show. Granted the prices went from reasonable to way overpriced the last time I checked.
It was a joke – just because he appeared on the show in the first place.
I had some serious impure thoughts about the ammo shelves at the end.
I guess the past few years traumatized my inner ammo-hoarder.
What I learned is that when I see Jerry putting his earplugs in, shit is about to go down.
Did I miss the part where he loaded his pocket pistol or was he muzzling the cameraman with a loaded gun the entire time?
Miculek nails it again, especially that last bit about rifle presentation.
Dunno, saw a bearded man at the train station today rocking a similar vest. He LOOKED like a CCW holder, but the way his vest was sitting it was REALLY snug against his side. No printing, I suspect no gun.
I see this all the time. Seems the non-carriers didn’t get the “Shoot me first” memo, nor did several of my relatives who love the added pockets of vests.
Add an Obama button to the lapel, instant deeeep cover camouflage.
Does anyone have statistics for the number of persons whose firearm was taken from them during open carry and used in a threatening posture towards their owner?
I am not talking about law enforcement confiscating your firearm or routine stops.
It is obviously smart to follow Jerry’s advice and highly recommend that one should. How often do people who open carry become victims of an attack? My guess is far less than those who conceal carry.
In any case, here in California we basically have neither carry option available unless you can prove that you are at risk. And unfortunately, unless you wished to become a magnet for law enforcement, even when open carry was legal you were basically defending your right to open carry on a daily basis. In many cases your weapon being confiscated until a background check was run and you were no longer considered a viable threat.
Damn that revolver in his belt at the beginning… which was the best intro he’s ever done
Great video! I fear I’ll see someone walking in a business I’m in with a rifle. Not sure how that will play out. Leave the rifles at home! Open carry of a pistol while I don’t understand it, is easier to be around. I just watch you more.
