Hit the nail on the head.
Why are people laughing?
This is true, terribly true. I never even got a chance to have the whole cake. I want all my damn cake back.
That’s why everyone is laughing. Its funny because its true.

LOL the bitter impotence is delicious. Guess it turns out that only stupid, racist rednecks whinge about gun ownership after all!
^ First time trolling, eh? Seems to me the real “bitter impotence” here is the high probability you can’t get laid. Better jump on the Internet and call people names! :D
Especially, When they realize that the Minorities and Women are the “new” Gun Culture.
He is most probably a subject from the UK. He is mad that he can’t even carry a butter knife to protect himself, so he projects his impotence on those of us who can actually carry firearms. Free citizens should disregard that buttertoothed subject.
>> LOL the bitter impotence is delicious.
Okay, I’ll give you bitter, but you think our anger is impotent? The anger that has been building over this bullshit for the last 40 years is anything but impotent:
No knee-jerk bleeding heart gun legislation after every psycho rampage: Our anger blocked it.
Sunsetting of the Assault weapons ban: Our anger blocked it.
New gun laws that expand access to firearms instead of limiting it: our anger pushed for that.
The 1990s wave of concealed carry at the state level? Our anger.
The 2000s wave of open carry? Our anger.
No gun show background check requirement: Our anger.
The attitude of people like you has poisoned the well and any proposed legislation is immediately suspect. We built our organizations, and funded them, and dug in for a long, perhaps centuries-long resistance to being disarmed. And at the end of the day, it’s our legislative agenda that get’s written into law. Because we’re organized and you’re not. Impotence? Yeah, but not on the side of the aisle you seem to think it’s on.
Your ignorance is unbelievable. I am a woman who graduated from HS with highest honors. Then, I went to a private, elite college with an academic scholarship. There I received a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Biology, & Microbiology & a double minor in Environmental Biology & Psychology. I did all of this while teaching a collegiate Physics class & working in various jobs throughout the college while receiving several awards & graduating summa cum laude with a 3.95gpa. I then went on to the prestigious Thomas Jefferson University & studied for my BSN (a 2nd Bachelors) while taking credits toward my Masters Degree also while working an internship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in the trauma ICU. I graduated the BSN program with full honors (summa cum laude) & received The Joan Jenks Award for Outstanding Community Service for several programs I created in a dangerous city including: literally single-handedly giving Christmas to a Women’s Shelter in which I collected thousands of dollars from businesses that was handed over to the shelter, then using my own money to buy food, make giftbags for each child, buy a new bike for a raffle for a party I set up at the shelter, donated a tree and all of the ornaments so that they could finally have a Christmas tree, and I set up toy donation centers at schools, businesses. etc.., from that we had 4 loaded vans of new toys. We had a Christmas party with the moms and the kids and then I went back the next day & unloaded all of the toys, and donated food for a Christmas feast, also gave the owner of the shelter approximately $8,000.00 for renovations & expansion so that she could help more battered women & their kids. I also laid out all of the toys (with onlyvthe moms there) and had them shop for gifts for Christmas for their kids. I also brought wrapping, so they could wrap them and put them under the tree. After making sure they had everything necessary to cook the turkeys and other items for the feast. The owner of the shelter & the moms cried and hugged me for feeling so special. I can say that it was 1 of the very BEST FEELINGS of my life. I then finidhed my Masters in Nursing and am now a Nurse Practitioner. However, worked in the psych ward for a couple years, the ICUs fora couple years, and was a social worker for about 3 years. So, though I may have grown up dirt poor as a redneck who had NO HEAT OR ELECTRIC and had windows that iced up on the inside, shared 1 bedroom with 2 brothers until the age of 16, & had to get my 1st job at 14 doing farmwork, picking blueberries and packing corn, shoveling shit, etc.. That has absolutely NO BEARING on my educational level or my staunch, unwavering position on the Constitution as a Constitutional Conservative. I believe that you, sir, need to read the Constitution. Educate yourself for Gods sake!!
Holy.. Well, there ya go.
And all without just raving about guns, the Second (all of the Constitution, really) just got laid out with a story of hard work.
Good job.
Dear Name, I’m a Redneck. I’ve worked in the sun to put food on my table and to pay rent for my apartment. BTW. What’s a whinge?
Whinge is British Subject speak for whine.
The 1934 Act was repealed > So you got that half of the cake back
The 1968 Act prevents people from buying grenades > We’ll keep that piece of the cake thanks
The Brady Bill was repealed > You got that cake back though
The Smith & Wesson Agreement fell apart when Bush Jr took office > You got that cake back
The School Safety and Law Enforcement Improvement Act > That’s background checks for those convicted of misdemeanor crimes that deal with Domestic Violence and being found (in court) to be Mentally Defective… and you’re mad about that piece of the cake?
So this comic is stupid and wrong, but it will resonate deeply with the NRA gun crowd because they’re apparently too stupid to realize they’ve gotten 95% of their cake back. Buncha stupid people with guns. Yeeeeee HAW!
1934 was not repealed, it’s been expanded through regulation via the ATF.
The Brady Bill was not repealed, it remains in effect.
The ONLY bit of national gun control legislation that is no longer in effect was that ridiculous provision in the crime bill, which sunset in 2004.
You’ve been watching the liberal wackos at MSNBC too long me thinks, it’s given you seriously incorrect information.
“The 1934 Act was repealed > So you got that half of the cake back”
No, it wasn’t. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Act
“The 1968 Act prevents people from buying grenades”
Okay, we’re going to boil an entire piece of legislation down to one little detail we like and call the whole thing good, the PATRIOT Act requires a warrant for seizing voice mail messages. So by your logic, we should keep it, yeah? No.
The Brady Bill was repealed > You got that cake back though
Once again, it most certainly was not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brady_Handgun_Violence_Prevention_Act
“The Smith & Wesson Agreement fell apart when Bush Jr took office > You got that cake back”
No, this is partially wrong and wholly misleading. There was a large scale blow back by the consumers, a large boycott cut Smith & Wesson’s sales by half, this lead to a crippling financial crisis for S&W that ultimately resulted in it’s sell to Saf-T-Hammer, who upon acquisition, renounced the agreement. It had nothing to do with Bush and in fact, there was an investigation targeted at the leaders of the boycott for two years into Bush’s first term.
“The School Safety and Law Enforcement Improvement Act > That’s background checks for those convicted of misdemeanor crimes that deal with Domestic Violence and being found (in court) to be Mentally Defective… and you’re mad about that piece of the cake?”
No, it is not.
Do you live in an alternate reality where all of this is true or are you just pulling shit out of your ass?
Aside from “Are you retarded?” and “Jack” handing you your uninformed behind on a platter beautifully, name-calling is a great way to totally discredit yourself right from the start. Also, should the SHTF ever, God forbid, YOU along with all those other anti-gun folks, will be hiding behind people WITH guns.
1934- NFA has never been repealed, it remains in full effect and is about to get worse in July
1968- okay, grenades. Sure. I’ll give you grenades. Never mind that it would actually be surprisingly easy to build an effective frag grenade using easily and legally available materials. But the GCA was also a gross overstep of federal authority. The GCA is the law that makes it such that for someone like me, who lives in Ohio, but less than a mile from the Indiana border, if I want to buy a gun, I have to go to the shop in my home state that is half an hour away and can’t go to the shop in a different state that is 15 minutes away. That extra half hour (round trip) of driving sure sounds like something that will make people safer
Brady Bill- Has not been repealed. Originally the Act was the law to require a background check prior to sale and a 5 day waiting period. The only thing that has gone is the 5 days. Why? Because in 1993 when enacted, a background check couldn’t be conducted instantly. Dealers had to take down buyer information, send it to the FBI and await a response. Once NICS was established, the same info could be called in, an FBI examiner can almost immediately access any records that would disqualify the buyer and return a response in minutes. No need to wait. The waiting period was never a “cooling off” time or some such thing, just necessary to allow the background check requirement to be fulfilled.
I don’t know much about the S&W agreement, so I won’t comment on anything I’m not knowledgeable about.
I’ll give you wife-beaters and psycho’s, but with a slight change- felony convictions were disqualifying offenses long prior. The only misdemeanor that is a DQ is domestic violence. If you ask me, DV should be a felony offense and therefore it wouldn’t be necessary for it to be its own category.
seems to me that if we take the constitution seriously, any of gun laws that limit the ability of a citizen of the United States could and should be deemed unconstitutional. I am a gun owner, and a constitutional libertarian, and would rather see all gun laws back to the NFA of 1939 repealed, but see the wisdom in some checks, on criminal background, and mental capacity. in the grand scale of things, the comic is largely accurate, some states have made it nearly impossible to purchase or possess a firearm. That would be an excessively difficult to get that “piece of cake” to get back due to anti-citizen, anti-constitution politicians in those states. it is a slippery slope much like socialism and federalized police, that once started down, it is nearly impossible to come back up.
You are totally correct!!
You are a liar, silly. End of story.
Guess what. None of the laws you mentioned were ever legal to begin with since the condition, “…shall not be infringed” means what it says. That applies to the states as well since they signed on to the Constitution to join the Union.
The Second Amendment is a wonderful check on the government becoming despotic and all people benefit from it. You, Silly Comic is Silly, have like a worthless parasite benefited from it. You should sit down and shut up since the real adults who take things seriously are going about the business of protecting this nation and your community.
When you and your leftist representatives try to disarm Americans it is for one purpose only, it is so you can control or harm us. No person has ever been made safer by being disarmed and forced to rely on the government composed of flawed men to protect them.
Not ONE SINGLE gun law EVER passed is NOT an infringement on a right that says CLEARLY that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” NONE! Not one!
Unfortunately this is so true. It will happen very quickly the third time. : /
So true…and so sad.
This whole thing falls apart when you remember YOU CAN’T SHOOT PEOPLE WITH A CAKE.
So you do not understand what an “analogy” is?
Comparing the loss of gun right to a disappearing cake.
Get it?
The analogy’s intent is clear enough. I think some would argue that it is more of a slippery slope fallacy based more on fear than reality that the purpose for most that want better public gun safety, whether it is through researching causes or changing the laws or something else – do not want to take away all guns. A small percentage maybe, but for the most part – it is an unwarranted fear. Whether in the suburbs with the increase in mass shootings – rare but random or the daily violence in urban centers – most want better laws, not more of them. There really is a difference.
The issue I have with the analogy is whether gun rights = someone else’s cake? We have a legal and pragmatic right to defend our lives, but is gun ownership a privilege based on that right or a blanket right with no accountability for repercussions when that liberty threatens other liberties – such as life?
Everyone has the right of self defense. The responsibility falls on everyone. As the saying goes, “Those willing to give up liberty for a little safety deserve neither liberty or safety.
That is not at all the context in which that quote was written… While I agree with the sentiment, that quote was used in pretty much the opposite way people in our community think it was.
WOW!! You are way out in left feild. Your communist leader is trying like hell to take away the guns from the Americasn people! I did not see one mention of deaths caused by car accidents. More peple are killed, maimed and ruined for life by cars/pickups etc… Then we have the gun grabbers demanding they have a RIGHT to kill their babies! Real cute, huh? Over 1.5 million babies a year and you are squabbling over guns that are used over 200,000 times a year to defnd someone from a criminal? What the hell is wrong with you?? Lets break this down. A criminal robs a bank and is armed with a stolen gun. The police chase him/her down, the criminal fires at the police, the police return fire yet the police are castigated for defending themselves and other innocent people in the area. This senario plays over and over again in the US every day. 33,000 deaths by gun shots, 22,000 are suicides, 8,000 are from criminals with stolen guns firing at police. 3,000 homicides every year including so called mass shootings. Back to cars, why is it that the focus is always on the “gun” and not on how we can stop a criminal??? Do you even think deep enough to try to present remedies on how to stop a criminal??? No, you don’t. All of the fearmongering done by the Nazi news media has your head all twisted inside out. Eric Holder back in1995 stated that we have to change peoples views on guns. In other words a mass brain washing campaign to demonize guns. You seem to have fallen for all of it.There is no “right” to killing a baby in the constitution. There IS a constitutional protection from government not ot “INFRINGE” on that RIGHT!!! It is people like you that don’t know s**t that are destroying this nation. But you don’t give a damn!!
It’s a Right not a privilege – the accountability should be falling on Those Who Break The Law by committing acts of violence (unprovoked) on others, acts such as murder, robbery, rape etc, the burden shouldn’t be placed on the law abiding….If we actually Punished the criminals with strict sentencing up to and including the death penalty (with a sentence carried out without endless appeals) – we’d be far better off.
The entire concept of “personal responsibility” seems to escape people these days, guess its easier to blame the other guy for everything.
If the premise is that people are taking away cake, then shouldn’t the reasoning be because he’s a fat asshole with diabetes and it’s for his health?
@ the author.
“HSGCA” isn’t an acronym. Its an initialism.
acronym
[ak-ruh-nim]
noun
1.
a word formed from the initial letters or groups of letters of words in a set phrase or series of words and pronounced as a separate word, as Wac from Women’s Army Corps, OPEC from Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or loran from long-range navigation.
initialism
[ih-nish-uh-liz-uh m]
noun
1.
a set of initials representing a name, organization, or the like, with each letter pronounced separately, as FBI for Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Who’s the retard now?
Judging by your sanctimonious grammar nazism…you are the retard.
If Americans could readily buy and equip themselves with military grade weaponry, armor, drones, etc. then the government wouldn’t need to take so much tax money on behalf of our military because we would probably have enough weaponry and effective militias to (A.) Protect ourselves from foreign threats, and (B.) Protect ourselves from domestic threats, like the government. We’re supposed to be able to have weaponry equal to that of our government. However the government is able to make a profit by being our only means of reasonable defense against foreign threats. And in reality we are easier to control when we cannot contest our own government. Could you imagine if our government decided they were going to take over the world, and the people said no however the government said that’s too bad, and whoever spoke out against them was put into a camp, and then they were used as free labor until they were nothing but skin and bones? That already happened, you see Hitler first made everyone in Nazi Germany register their weaponry, and afterwards he disarmed the populace and the secret police began taking away “trouble makers” and eventually they began taking away everyone of a certain religion. Residents of Israel settlements near buffer zones are given automatic weapons by their military for protection, and their deaths related to guns are lower than America’s gun related deaths which shows having the availability of guns doesn’t cause murders. In America even if you took everyone’s guns their would still be atrocious acts of violence because the violent acts aren’t committed simply because we have guns, they are committed because of the state of our country. They are literally being driven mad because they have to work to the bone just to survive, work even harder to the bone if they want to get an education, just so they can have a reprieve from poverty and all the while a select few have 99 percent of the wealth in the country while all the hardworking people that even make that possible share the last 1 percent of wealth. That means that there are so many depressed tired and stressed people that can barely muster up the will to keep trudging through this misery which is their life all thanks to their corrupt and greedy countrymen who use our government to rob us blind and keep us working subserviently. From a Social Science standpoint it’s simple. Action reaction. When conditions are made to be miserable for the occupants of a country, there will be atrocious acts of violence committed by people who are suffering from the conditions.
The founding fathers would be rolling over in their graves if they saw how large and centralized our military is.
Every week a law abiding american gun owner stops being law abiding and decides to shoot a few fellow citizens thats why there are anti gun campaigns strangely people dont like being shot.
And every day some blockhead like Martin blames the gun instead of the shooter. How well does it work in court? “Not guilty, your honor. The gun did it, not me.”
I love how the killer is always a “Law Abiding American”… Until we find out He’s Not.
“Every week a law abiding american gun owner stops being law abiding and decides to shoot a few fellow citizens thats why there are anti gun campaigns strangely people dont like being shot”
Yay !!!
Let’s go hang out in a #GunFreeZone !!!
Yay !!!
I’d rather go to where #2A means something. Our Right to Protect Ourselves and each other from all Threats both “foreign and domestic”.
#MΟΛΩΝΛΑΒΕ Byatch
Dunno the stats. You look ’em up, twist them at will. People who act badly are long accustomed to being bad actors. It doesn’t work the way you say, Mr. Woodhead. Most of the criminals have histories – long, prior histories – of criminal activities. Most of the peaceful folk have histories – long prior histories – of peaceful activities. ‘Nuff said.
There are a % of those who may (and do) indeed snap that have no prior criminal history, but that % is very small in comparison to those who have a rap sheet a mile long.
Also, a % if those who have no prior criminal history may simply never have been caught, may have known affiliations to criminals who have been caught (not uncommon in gang circles) which lowers the % of those “law abiding” folks who suddenly choose to shoot fellow citizens even further.
Hey, you want compromise, sure, we can do that……
You get a law (or laws) that says assault, robbery, rape, and murder, using a gun, is illegal. Solves your problem, right? No more gun crimes!
I get the repeal of EVERYTHING ELSE that has “gun” in it.
Deal?
Yeah, I didn’t think so. So what’s your REAL goal? (as if I didn’t know)
You can take the whole cake back, as soon as you figure out how to give back the dead children.
The cake is liberty. Anyone willing to give up liberty for a little safety deserve neither safety nor liberty.
Stop using that quote when you don’t even understand the meaning behind it… Spoiler Alert: It was not used the way you think it was.
Daniel, first you give back the over 200 million people, including children, murdered by socialist/communist regimes that always went about gun confiscation first to disarm their serfs for easy extermination. The whole point of the 2A is to prevent that here. We have had some close brushes with the internment of the Japanese in WW2, and the suspension of habeus corpus under Lincoln. I like to think that (with the exception of the ACW) we have had the peaceful transition of power in this country with elections because the citizens retained the power to shoot politicians if it became necessary.
So, you are just as full of action trying to stop the salughter of all of the innocent babies that arte killed by thier mothers?? Over 1.5 million every year but you stupid fools say nothing so you pick on an inanimate object because your masters told you to. Your post is really screwed up. You talk about children yet you say nothing about all of the millions of babies that never got a chance to even be children. You have a serious mental problem!
Daniel – Your twisted sense of humor chills me. It’s not really about cakes. It’s not really about children. Tweaked quite a bit throughout the years, “We hold these truths to be self evident; that all people are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of a life well lived (or words to that effect.) The right of people with main-stream beliefs (ones with which I agree) to assemble rag-tag, with looting and firebombs for all ….. Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise of religion, with the exception of “Junk Religions.” Tweak till the cows come home, Babies. I’m kinda likin’ the olde time wording, myself.
THIS IS SOOO TRUE!!! Oh my word, I sent this to everyone I know!
If the Second Amendment were treated like the Fifth in this country, people unable to afford guns would be able to go to the government and demand one be issued free of charge.
I would like to know why the NRA keeps saying they will fight for our gun rights yet they have never spent that first dollar to get this illegal law removed! Matter of fact I can’t seem to see any gun rights club fighting for this.
That’s because NRA stands for “Negotiating Rights Away”
