Come as you are, preferably with cash or a gun you don’t want:
With a gun, all you have to do is walk up to some dude with a cardboard sign under the freeway, hand over the gun for the money, and forget about it. Not only is there no background check, you don’t even have to know the buyer’s name. There’s a gun-sale report you could file with the state. But unlike with cars, it’s voluntary.

Hahaha epic, that smells like freedom to me. I see nothing wrong with a collector or regular guy padding his safe with awesome guns that people found or decided they were scared of, or just didn’t want. I highly doubt criminals are going to venture to gun buybacks, when they could just as easily buy a gun off the streets hours later when they aren’t crawling with cops.
In the spirit of seattle grunge rock, I’ll quote the late great Kurt Cobain even though he was talking about not having a gun:
And I swear that I don’t have a gun
No I don’t have a gun
No I don’t have a gun
Definitely my favorite acoustic album of all time, but I digress…
Thoughts?

Ccomplete waste of time and taxpayer money!
i think its ridiculous. good firearms going to waste. lol they have a gun buyback in my county. totally not going to that
Ah, there it was, I was waiting for it. The Third World General police chief said it. “If it just only saves one life, it’s the right thing to do.” Anyone else notice the “assault rifle” AKM was a 22? Streetsweeper, oooooh. Kinda like Mufasa, oooooh, say it again.
Yep, we should have the GSG or ATI folks sue the news station for calling their GSG AKM 22 an assault rifle!
Huh, well if they have one down here in GA I be sure to to the same thing.
Anyone else notice the 2 rifles that guy was turning in were shotguns? Or very very worn rifles. :)
All of those guns were left to them by someones parents or grandparents and havent been used since.
While they may or may not have got $100 at the gunstore for them, these really are not the weapons anyone uses in crime.
Also why would you turn in a class III streetsweeper for less than 1/10 of what its worth?
Gun buybacks: promoting the irrational fear of an inanimate object
I guess if you’re so incompetent that you can’t lock your gun in a good safe, or you’re afraid you’ll shoot yourself or your kid I don’t want you having one anyway.
But why the hell would you give it away for less than what it’s worth to have it melted down. Afraid someone is going to use your grandpa’s .22 to rob a bank? Fucking sheep.
hahah yea, they should have knife buybacks also. I think I might have a knife I haven’t cut anything with in a while and I’m worried someone might break in and steal it then stab someone. I’d never forgive myself…
Mike, you laugh about it, but it’s really not funny. There is no end to which nanny-sheep-statists will not stoop. Case in point: In Britain, you must be 18 years old to buy kitchen knives. Even dull kitchen knives…

No wonder the Nazis contemptually made fun of my fellow Jews who willingly walked into the chambers without so much as a protest… Never again.
Very true :(
1:43 .22Long Rifle ersatz “AK”
1:50 THREE street sweepers? Those are “destructive devices” according to the ATF, Somebody just missed a potential $150,000 fine if I remember the penalty. Funny, if Street Sweepers are so notable, why did the news only show a picture from the owner’s manual??
Notice how they said *most* of the guns will be melted down? Maybe the cops don’t disclose them and keep the fun ones.
I can’t wait for my town to do a buyback… I figure $1500 in seed money and turn them on ArmsList for 5x what i paid. I love the smell of capitalism in the morning…
Man, I didn’t go to this one but I’ll make sure I go to the next one and try to score myself a nice gun.
They had a buyback here in Dallas, but it was sponsored by a church. Across the road, some guys rented the land and had a gun sale. All over the news here locally. Most of the guns “given” away were fairly crummy looking.

OK, thanks to the newscaster, we know David Daily inherited a bunch of guns, is giving up two pieces of crap he doesn’t want, and apparently stores his firearms in a closet. Wonder how long it will take a news-watching thief to figure that one out….
This inspires obscenities that I want to spew. IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
