Should stand for stupidity or shrapnel. Skip to 3:25 to see:
No ear protection, no eye protection… no brains. Shooting a binary explosive from what? 20 yards away? I wouldn’t do that WITH ear and eye pro on, even out in the open. He goes and fills a truck up with it and shoots it? *smh*
He’s had some close calls before, and his camera man even took some shrapnel. This in particular, could have been a LOT worse.
I played it back and forth a few times hoping I would end up deciding it was put in post production to troll us… doesn’t look like it though.
The rifle is pretty cool.
Thoughts?

WOW ya i stopped watching he’s vids long ago but this is insane the sad part is people think he is an “expert” makes me sick
I was wondering the same. It wouldn’t surprise me if some of that shrapnel was put in post production.
for anyone who is new – he is not really russian.
secondly, i wish that would have hit him. would have made him regret buying that high speed camera.
low drag, high speed.
It’s fake. You can see the digital effects if you watch frame by frame. He did this to make his unthinking 12 year old fanbase think he’s cool and to get free publicity about it. He’s actually pretty clever like that, I think.
agreed. Effects. YankeeMarshal even got shot in his last video.
It could be an in camera special effect. Google “long lens shot”.
“long-focus-lens shot appears to compress the distance between objects due to the perspective from the more distant location.”
He’s going to get people started on banning tannerite again. The gun store guys had this happen too and they were farther away from the car.
I think even if it was post production he was still dangerously close for the size of the explosion. I liked the rifle though but if I were going to get a colapsible suitcase gun I would get an Accuracy International AWC. They are even thoughtful enough to put it in a nice leather bound suitcase insteaed of an ugly plastic box. But when you assemble it you get a full size arctic warfare sniper rifle with a suppressor and a scope. Perfect weapon for hitmen and assassins everywhere.
Good god…that door had broken femurs written all over it.
Someone get this guy some new pants, I think he just soiled those.
I think it looks like it’s made with a green-screen since the camera has focus on both him and the car but not the grass. Look att the transition between his arm and the grass.
And his game has always been making controversial videos since they generate loads of buzz and views…
Moron.
The shrapnel looks real to me. And why make the Charles Whitman reference? That just makes people associate these guns with mass shootings.
The explosion reminded me of Final Destination! :D
FPS stands for “Fuckin Piece of Shit” that guy is a goddamn moron and a douche.
This is why you don’t let your buddy pack your explosives…..but i also agree it could be post production, after you have a buddy get hit by shrapnel two things happen 1. you have more respect for explosives or 2. you think that your a lucky bastard push the limits till it kills you.
I ended up un subscribing from him yesterday when i saw this. the man has close to 3.5 million subscribers, for many of them he is the only representation of guns outside of a video game, hes unsafe and in for the money and glory. overall a bad example in the shooting community.
yep my thoughts exactly
I’ve always been shocked by the lack of eye and ear protection from this guy. I know the fake accent has made him the YouTube sensation that he seems to be, but it’s time to drop it.
He’s getting old. One trick pony. Oh another thing thats getting really annoying is “CORY AND ERIKA” videsos. OMG! the little candid parts in the beginning of their vids now is creeping me the hell out!! Erika acting all silly and stuff and Cory behind the camera video taping it. OMG its creepy. He seems like a Perv now.
Now? All he based her channel on is her ass.
What a waste of a good Ford F-150.
Although I did lol when he said “Okay, maybe a lot of shrapnel”.
I always try not to blow up whenever one of my new shooting buddies mentions FPS. But lets just say I try not to watch any more than ten seconds of any of his stuff.
I’m still half and half over whether I believe the spinning shrapnel is real or not, but let me say this:
I hope it is. Because someday he’ll give himself an 85lb “retirement package” at a few hundred feet per second that will mean I don’t have to hear about him anymore.
yep…..
im sorry, but he is a horrible ambassador for the sport and firearms in general.
Thats ok, hes the Russian ambassador.
When I see no ear or eye pro I default to the ‘big boy rules’ or ‘you’re only hurting yourself’. Go for it!
But I did wince pretty good when I saw that shrapnel! ‘Ewwwww that was close…. idiot’ was probably my exact words.
ahahaha.. fake and fag !! like his russian accent
Well trying to find out the price or a place to buy the DRD Paratus-18 doesn’t come up until the end of the second page. The rest is all the buzz about the idiot.
I think I’m going to put off buying one for a while.
Too bad the shrapnel didn’t at least clip him. Then we wouldn’t have to put up with so much idiocy.
When i was in iraq, an IED of similar size went off about that far away. I didn’t think that i was hit, until i went back to the FOB and got in the shower. I had small shrapnel wounds all over my legs and lower back. I would be willing to bet that he will be picking some small bits of truck out of his ass. He is lucky to be alive.
So, so obviously fake. Are we really debating whether this is digital effects or not? This is the same guy who had a video with the make-believe drone from call of duty in his video where he “flew” it. Regardless of the few big chunks of metal, there would be thousands of little metal shards flying outwards directly into his face.
The guy is an idiot. The real problem is the fact there are plenty of people out there that want to be entertained by idiots as opposed to actually watching something with substance, with quality, from an actual subject matter expert. This guy is a Russian, Nutnfancy, Will it blend? for guns.
I have verified from different sources in his “camp”. That it was in fact real. Aside from sub par editing in his videos with “trick shots” where he cuts before he pulls the trigger to fake the shot, the only video he’s ever had CGI in is a brand deal where Call of Duty did the post production. You can definitely tell the difference in the level of production between the two. Even knowing that, the look on his face when the door comes by him should be a clear indication when he realizes how close it was. Is he really that great of an actor to be able to fake his reaction? I doubt it considering we’re talking about a guy who constantly goes in and out of his accent.
He’s definitely not the representative we want of the shooting community with his level of arrogance and unsafe behavior. He does bring a level of entertainment that gets the attention of viewers. Are we part of the problem by posting his videos to talk about how awful they are? Hopefully some of the shooting brands he works with will stumble across our posts and see what the community thinks of him. Either way it seems like he benefits.
Simple problem. Equally simple solution.
File all his videos under the category, “This is what you DON’T do, gun lovers!
