Oh yeeeeeeeeeah:
A lot of hip shots in this video. If it’s so comfortable to shoot as they say at 1:05, then why don’t we see any real shooting with it?
I want to get one of these and OC through the the hood on some straight Omar shit whistling farmer in the dell and dropping witty lines. I got the shotgun… you got the briefcase. It’s all in the game though right? A double glock, double deagle, and double 1911 are necessary firearms to have in the collection with this one.
What’s the point of 3 different chokes? Maximum damage and spread? Sounds kinda derpy.
Despite the fact the shotgun will be apparently available in January 2013, there is no mention of it on the Chiappa website. Typical.
Thoughts?
P.S. The cheese stands alone.

would make a neat SBS…thats about it.
I can imagine one of those hanging on a wall in some Firefly universe bar, sure would be intimidating no doubt
I’ve also always thought their Rhino revolvers looked very sci-fi western.
so glad i dont have any money for impulse crazy gun buys at the moment.
The different chokes are for different spread. usually depending on whether the target is coming towards or going away from you, and with a semi decent gun you can select which fires first.
That how it is in o/u and sxs world anyway
No shit Dave
Sorry, thought mike wanted an explanation. Plus these days tacticool kids think shotguns are only for slugs and 000 buck at paper targets.
Very true
Interesting I guess. I don’t think anyone’s made a triple barreled shotgun in a long time. The 18″ barrel is really too short for hunting or shooting clays though and I don’t really know why you’d go for this over a Mossberg or Remington if you were looking for a defensive shotgun. I don’t see this taking the shotgun world by storm or being considered anything but a novelty.
Triple barreled guns were once not unusual in the UK around the turn of the last century (not common, just not unheard of). These had full length barrels but were kept relatively light weight as the British would make them with very thin barrels. I suspect Chiappa is using 18.5″ barrels to keep weight down while still having wall thickness great enough to allow screw in chokes. Outside of a cape gun style set up for deer in brush (rifled choke up top with a slug, buckshot below) I don’t see this as a practical hunting tool. Nevertheless, that’s what they’re apparently going for with the wood stock. Probably would be better received with a more tacti-cool look (pepper gas or Tazer X12 round up top and buck below!).
Frankly, it’s an answer to a question nobody asked.
Looks like the Fudd version of some of the weapons in stargate atlantis. I must admit I want one, but I want to see video it used at a trap range or a skeet shoot first.
it is a break action with 3 shots. ill take it. all the class of breaks, with the awesome of repeating shots and more than 2 of em. not only that, ill take it and use it for skeet and not even mind that the pellets wont travel fast enough to shatter the clays every time.
Someone should invent a shotgun that holds more than 3 rounds and can still be fired rapidly. They could use a single barrel, and some sort of “magazine” to hold the rounds under spring tension until some kind of action would eject the spent round and pick up a fresh one.
Guess I’ll have to buy one of these until such a thing is invented….
Soooooo close. I really would like to see sombody (maybe Chippa re-working this thing) come out with a modern drilling (combination that) that isn’t $10,000. Imagine this, with two triggers, shooting a .308 or .30-30 (rimmed is easier to eject and headspace) over two 12 gauge. One triger for the rifle barrel, the other for the shotgun barrels.
see, i could get behind such a thing.
Darn it, you guys made me google stuff and now i want a Vierling :D
Welcome to the club.
Oh yea, behind you on that. I’ve always loved the idea and looks of the old drillings and would love to get one that doesn’t cost as much as a small car. I’d get one in SxS .410 with a 22 Mag and one just like you suggested.
Cant you buy a O/U and get a barrel insert for 308 or what-have-you-not that way you could have 308, 3006 etc. Up top and 12 gauge under, I did find online a german company that manufactures inserts for shotguns for this purpose( the barrel itself is adjustable so you can have same POA on 20-30 metres with shotgun and 100-150 with the rifle
might have some use against doves, but, i dunno.
LOL, he said lenth instead of length…
Chiappa needs to step their game up, some french company already made a 4 barrled breach-loading shotgun. I believe it was called the “Famars Rombo” or something like that.
Chiappa should make a 5 barreled shotgun next; shit, lets just go all out and make an 8 barred shotgun.
why not just add a 30-30 or 308 adapter in the bottom barrel? Or 45 lc in each top one with shotgun below?
Oh ya, because it looks like there is no way to chose the barrel with the single trigger, or did I miss that?
The major issue of a S/S rifle is getting the barrels to shoot somewhere close to the sights, not easy to do.
Rather have this.
