The first part is just stretching.. but then it gets technical and weird:
That is apparently reinforcing basic combat movement for Special Ops, Military, and LE. *shrug* if you say so. If crawling on your back like a worm is “basic combat” this must be one of those “You’re not an operator.. you wouldn’t understand” type things.
I just can’t picture a room full of guys doing that. Seems like one of those things that the higher-ups would be sold on by these training companies because of all the “benefits”, and then the guys that actually had to do it would just show up because they are getting paid, and then get some laughs out of it.
More info over at the Morrison System website.
This isn’t the first time we have seen systema in action. The Spetznaz are a big fan of it.
Thoughts?

That’s pretty gay.
Pay attention folks, this is how you leave a first comment. Lmao!
Wow, that music almost put me to sleep. Luckily the slow motion replay of him rolling over made me laugh a bit to keep me awake.
I’d love to see him do these maneuvers with an actual rifle, magazines, armor and other equipment on.
This is Systema…Russian Martial Arts for Spetsnaz and the likes. There is some academy in Florida that teaches this. There used to be torrent out there for Systema With the AK-47 with plenty of examples of squirming and flippity flopping while providing 360 of muzzle sweep with live ammunition. Entertaining video to say the least and definitely worthy of this blog.
The Spetsnaz likez to do lotz of flashy spinny thingz. Very niiice.
this is so funny……i bet if he finds out that his video is on here he is gonna take it down….
Ok most are just stretches. I was level 3 combative’s when I left the army but I never listened to flutes and stretched by myself and did dramatic replays. I did break my nose and clavical a few times…
Oh and the music makes me think of a dentist office for some reason…
Does not seem too bad. As the intro says “reinforce [combat] movement patterns” works like this: You repeat things. A lot. You don’t need elevator music, military gear or sneakers for that. But the idea is sound.
And some movements there can be done wrong: If you’ve seen someone preparing to shoot from a sitting position and then deciding to move forward, only to twist one foot under their butt and sweeping their spotter when trying to get free, practicing weird movement patterns like that might make sense.
Note: I’m not endorsing all movement patterns. The wide kungfu movie posing stance he does is taught in some Israeli bodyguard schools, but is opposite to both modern weaver and isosceles teachings. But practicing movements is nice off-day stuff. Just play some proper heavy metal, not that elevator music.
Tactical back itch at 1:05.
Yeah, as mentioned before, this is a re-hash of cold-war era Spetznaz “systema” which was basically “1000 Flashy Ways To Be Shot By US Infantry”. Lots of flopping, twirling, swirling, flipping, and rolling…for no apparent reason. This is in no way related to any combat training I’ve seen in the US Army. The guy just put on a set of Multicams to make it seem legit. Systema should have died out after the collapse of the Soviet Union. If you want to learn a military martial art, learn Krav Maga. I don’t think there’s as much flipping and spinning, but it probably works a little better.
Krav Maga + Eliza Dushku FTW :-)

mmmm Eliza Dushku
Well, at the very least I am going to burn that soundtrack to help with my insomnia.
The only redeming factor, are the few stretches incorporated into the routine. While not ideal, it’s better than sitting on the couch, digging for belly lint. So, obviously, that’s not much of an endorsement.
Expect to see more of these videos, as the 2 wars come to a close, contractors are starting to scramble for alternative revenue streams.
Unfortunately, most people are razzled-dazzled by something new or different, but not necessarily better.
That was a pretty sweet tactical pelvic thrust.
Wasn’t he supposed to have a ribbon on a stick while doing that?
Probably not the best choice in music. However while the movements may seem awkward and not something you would typically practice. I can see how in certain situations they could help. The crawling on your back like a worm move while amusing is a possible technique you might have to use if you were unable to flip over and go with a low crawl in a dire situation.
Well I can tell you we have gotten away from the first version of Combatives in Army and while they still teach the level one version of passing guard, stand in base, side control, shrimp and so on… they now have a combat version which teaches not to go to the ground at all, utilizes a post, hook, frame and… options style of fighting, along with primary weapons retention. But this here just looks… weird.
At least it doesn’t say do this one thousand times and you are now a SF operator.
I laughed at seeing it in this context and with this music, but as I watched, I recognized almost all of those as movements that I made in the military. Some of those little movements will fuck you up if you’re exhausted after days of hard labor. It’s the stupid things that get you hurt.
I couldn’t watch this.
So. Floor ballet?
The music makes me want to download porn.
No need. I found this video easy to masturbate with.
Video removed! LOL I guess he didn’t like the comments!
I really need to start keeping score. That’s 150+ removed this month alone. Granted most of that was from the Vigilant Sphincter project… but still impressive none the less.
