A TEDx talk in Amsterdam by a high ranking military commander in the Netherlands:
Colored roll marks? Low end furniture? At first I thought it smelled like airsoft. Then the camera zoomed in for a split second at 14:14 (Click to enlarge):
Looks to me like the infamous 3rd hole is present (the one that would accommodate an auto parts kit), along with a Diemaco roll mark on the lower.
He makes some really good points, that are applicable in all countries. I recommend watching this video. In fact I don’t think ive ever watched a TEDx video I didn’t like.
Thoughts?

He said something about “the state monopoly on the use of violence.” I believe in the second amendment that says the people have that power!
The state has a monopoly on the legitimate use of force. Only for the government is it socially acceptable to kill/assault/imprison people in cases other than self-defense (i.e. assassinations, preemptive war, jails, arrests, etc).
It’s really better off this way, or else the nation will devolve into Somlia-esque levels of shittiness.
Also, what’s with all the government hate? You do realize it’s a necessary institution right?
The entire point of the gov is to have more power than the people, or else it’ll just be an impotent mess.
Not to start something, but my opinion is that the government should be more of a guide than a power.
What do you mean?
Agreed.
…dude? He’s not American. He’s Dutch and they don’t have a 2nd, or a Bill of Rights for that matter.
I enjoyed this lecture, However did anyone else notice that he has an ACOG with a EOtech magnifier?
I guess he’s just that much of a boss.
Herp Derp
That’s not an ACOG mate.
You can do that with an Eotech
Yea, it’s an Aimpoint in this case though.
I would disagree with him vehemently on his assertion that the state monopoly on violence led to the decrease in violence and it amazes me that anyone who uses the Nazis and the Cold War as examples could spew such ridiculousness having seen what the state monopoly on violence did in those cases. He forgets that the reason father was a good marksman was because he learned to shoot due to private ownership of arms, not because the state empowered him to do so…and then failed to provide adequate arms with it mattered most.
In reality, the prosperity brought about by free markets reduced the incentive to incite violence and violence tends to occur where those markets are disrupted. The right to use violence to protect life and property is inherent in every human being, not legitimized by the fiat of politicians. Mr. Uhm would do well to remember that it is not the good that a law can create at the behest of good people that matters, it’s what evil that same law can enable in the hands of evil people that must be the guide.
You’re right, of course, but I’ll give him a pass on this one due to where he’s served. There’s lots of good things to be said for stable governments if you’ve recently been to where widespread violence is an everyday thing. Having lived in Ecuador when the military decided to put on a show of force and let the civilian government know who’s REALLY in charge, there’s a lot to be said for having civilians who can resist any illegal and immoral power grabs by the military.
The only think that makes me think it’s NOT airsoft is the oil, though it could be one of the ultra realistic gas blowback rifles the BATFE doesn’t like.
Could be oiled up to give a nice sheen for the cameras.
I used to oil my $200 airsoft GBB glocks, otherwise the seals will bust and the metal on metal friction can cause issues if there’s no oil.
They arent airsoft, they are Colt Canada C7 rifles and C8’s.
I swear none of you guys ever read my posts haha
