Sabre Defence .50 BMG Bullpup Rifle

The company whose name I hate came out with that pretty sweet new product at SHOT this year.  Too bad they got into some legal hot water and are now being liquidated.  Oh well, maybe Barrett will step up to the plate and actually release the XM500 rifle they showed at SHOT a couple of years ago.

How long until S.W.A.T. units start buying these for clearing rooms?

To check out why the Sabre Defence name annoys me, and see ‘The Office’ make fun of it check out one of my prior posts – HERE

this looks like something that would be standard issue for a space marine in power armor. lol

  2. I wonder if it’s related in any way to Sero’s GM6 Lynx?

Looks very similar. Could it be a GM6 with a face-lift?

  3. its funny he doesnt mention at all the gamechanging bit, the long recoil operation with the telescoping bolt that makes it so short when used in a bullpup. it has to operate like the gm6 to have the same compactness because an alternate mode of operation doesn’t seem feasible for the telescoping bolt.

The Sabre LSR 50 BMG will be manufactured by another Defence Organization now that Sabre Defence is defunct. The new desgination is “Leader 50 BMG”. Incidentally it does not use a telescoping bolt but simply a short bolt with the trigger mechanism located inside the extruded receiver at 30 degrees to the bore center line. It’s origins is traced back to the M17-S Bullpup circa 1986, by the same designer so the flyer at the Shot indicated.
About time we are seeing some modern designs using original ideas and taking advantage of modern day fabrications.

I plan to buy one and at $6,800, tis a bargain, specially with the use of high tensile maraging steel for the action.
