The Walking Dead – S01E05

This episode was a lot better than the previous two. Without spoling anything for those that haven’t watched it yet, my interest in the show is officially renewed.

There were a couple eye roll worthy moments as expected… most notably the ninja style loading of the S&W LadySmith by Angela.  Taking some cues from the Glock Ninja on youtube I guess…

If you forgot to set the DVR, you can always watch it online for a couple bucks:

The graphic novels were a lot of fun but it tests my nerves to watch the show. Here’s why; I am irked (Hell, it makes me loco!) to see people behaving as they do in these situations of fiction, sitting around fires, no sentries, etc. I guess I want to see some stark reality vis a vis, people who know how to survive and work at it!

Suspension of disbelief, even in something as fantastic as a zombie flick, is tough for me.

Dead on Admin(Mike). I tend to agree with you too Sean but thats why I stopped reading the graphic novels at #9 – they kept making the same mistakes over and over. While I’ve never faced the zombie horde I’ve face enough mobs and been in enough toilets across the world to have some pretty strong opinions. One thing that struck me in EVERY zombie flick, all the graphic novels, and (okay, I admit it) zombie novels- can ANYONE SAY SILENCER?!? The crossbow is a good idea but unless they start making easy to reload repeating crossbows al a Van Helsing… On nanother track, the novels finally had them heading in a different direction. Somehow heading for the one place in the country EVERY soul trying to get “cured” would go seems like heading to a buffet as a voluntary entree… On an aside, while talking about this show at work I was accused of WANTING a zombie TEOTWAWKI to happen… had to explain that being able, nay encouraged to shoot the now obvious bad guys beats the heck outta reading about their activities in news papers or online. Simpler times hey-

    1. Of course you were accused of wanting a zombie apocalypse. Everyone wants one. The hardest part of surviving a zombie apocalypse would be pretending it’s not awesome.

        haha that’s priceless Ed.

  3. Just read that the Walking Dead writing staff has been let go (http://tv.ign.com/articles/113/1137550p1.html).
At first I thought this might be improvement but I don’t think it will change the show at all.
Also I’ve noticed while reading non-gun related sites, the real life zombies love the show and see no problems with The Walking Dead at all.

I guess the shows survivors represent them.

That’s pretty crazy they fired everyone. It will be interesting to see how those season 2 episodes turn out…

well it looks like the military got desperate, and decided to use a soviet DShKM along side the Browning .50 Cal. :D
(just as they got to the CDC, you can see them side by side..) :p
