You heard the man… if a thug or criminal tries to steal his buddy John McMillan’s yard signs the next shot isn’t going to be a warning!

I wonder if people from Alabama are embarrassed by these advertisements; I think I would be!
People from Alabama have no shame. They are from Alabama.
I apologize in advance to any sensible person from Alabama, but it’s time for a joke.
You know why there are so many unsolved crimes in Alabama?
Because they don’t go to the dentist often enough to keep records, and the DNA is all too closely related.
hahaha nice
that made me LOL
As a West Virginian, it is always nice to see things about Alabama. WV is often #49 on a list of states’ good attributes, and #2 on the bad ones. Thanks, Alabama, for keeping us from being the rock bottom.
Thing about this ad is, he’s now actually breaking the law, I believe, with a warning shot into the air. A “thutty-thutty” at that angle could be going for a loooooong ride.
Good point about firing the shot into the air. From Admin Mike’s description of the video, I thought ol’ Dale was going to advocate using lethal force on people stealing yard signs, and was going to comment on that! I’m sure reckless discharge of firearms is a part of life in Alabama! Seriously though, laws against reckless discharge are usually city ordinances. However, there are usually state laws buried in the natural resources sections that prohibit firing a weapon across a public roadway. That’s exactly the case in Alabama. I would imagine that in firing a .30-30 up into the air like that, the bullet is sure to cross over a public road at some point. According to Alabama Code, Section 9-11-257:
“Any person, except a duly authorized law enforcement officer acting in the line of duty or person otherwise authorized by law, who hunts or discharges any firearm from, upon, or across any public road, public highway, or railroad, or the rights-of-way of any public road, public highway, or railroad… shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished for the first offense by a fine of not less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250)…”
Well, that’s a good legal perspective on it. I was more just thinking of Cooper rule #4: Identify your target, and what is behind it. Regrettably, you can break lots of Cooper’s rules and not be illegal.
Awesome! You always deliver on the citations Josh.
[…] shes no Dale Peterson when it comes to campaign promotion, that’s for sure. […]
