Looking through the MSNBC Guinness Book Of Records anniversary photos today, I came across one that oozed both awesomeness and tacticalness… #26:
Naturally I had to see more, so I checked YouTube…

Seeing it rip through the house, and out into the snow is absolutely incredible!
Can you imagine the look on a bad guys’ face when one of those cruises through the door and is staring them down.

I wonder what the specs on the armor are?
I am curious to also know the price on one of these… Not that they would be available for non L.E. purchase anyway.
I want EVERYTHING that Howe & Howe makes! If you get a chance check out the page for the Mini Rip, which is actually available to consumers. Bad news is that it’s $55000
AND NOW….
Some of the less impressive “records”:
- Longest distance for a person pulled by a horse while being on fire (#28)
- Most eggs crushed with head in one minute (#33)
I could go on and on… but those two in the 52 picture set take the cake as far as stupidity goes.
I don’t know how you set up a meeting with a representative from the Guinness book (besides going on one of those TV shows), but I’m pretty confident that I could beat a number of those useless records with very little practice or expense. I don’t really know what I would have to gain from that though, besides most of my friends and family being embarrassed they know me.
Seeing as the criteria to get into the book seems to be pretty loose, I should motion to get entry for a new record… “Most compulsive checks for new stories to blog about in one day” or “Most time spent thinking about guns in one day”

Your new entry idea wouldn’t be any more absurd than that one they had pictured there – fastest hurdles wearing scuba fins! What the point of that is, I’ll never know.
haha yea that one was ridiculous too! Why not have a fastest 100m freestyle swimming while playing the violin record? Makes about as much sense. :P
You have not been watching their show? Hell, I guess I should have told you about it sooner – on TLC or the Discovery Channel, or one of those friendly-cuddly ones. Basically, the series amounts to “how not to run a small company”, but it also showcases all of the awesome and masterful toys that company somehow manages to produce… and that is worth it indeed.
If I recall the episode wherein they did their damnest to take the Badger apart, it actually stood up to a .50BMG round – granted, the armor is intentionally slanted in order to increase its effective thickness as much as possible, but that is still something. Then they strapped a chunk of C4 under it, and while it blew the track system off, the central pod was still intact, and internal pressures were not high enough to kill.
Not bad, for something literally built in a garage.
It was on Discovery Channel for a while… I don’t know if it still is or not. But yeah, pretty decent armor for it’s size.
Damn I had not even heard of their show, ill have to check it out.
That thing sounds pretty durable!

I don’t know about the former, but I could sure as hell give you a run for your money on the latter! :D
we would need to come up with a ridiculous way to measure it though… :P
I think the criteria should be how much bitc… er, complaining your wife/girlfriend does with regard to your amount of firearms fantasizing. The louder or more frequent the complaints, the better job you are doing! :)
hahah what a great metric. My girlfriend has a pretty loud voice, you’re going down Jordan :D
looks like a pygmy version of the Cobra HISS from GI JOE.
LOL practically identical. Awesome observation DCanoe.
