Dutch Marine Pirate Raid Filmed On A Helmet Camera

Pretty crazy stuff… Not only did they land a helicopter on the top of containers on the ship, but they went in and took the pirates alive and confiscated their weapons. Badass!

One of the scariest parts of the video was at 1:50 the lead guy looks in the shattered window and decides it safe and continues on.  Then a few seconds later, the rest of his team has their guns pointed in there yelling at a pirate to get out.  Pretty tense when you have armed pirates sneaking around on there armed to the teeth.

  1. kick ass

  2. Good stuff. Hats off to em!

  3. This video is being presented as the Dutch Marines storming a pirate ship. But, name a regular unit that does fast rope insertion. Also, they’re completely sterile. None of the men have any kind of marking on their uniforms at all. No patches, nothing. Also, every time one of them says anything, the Dutch guy talks over them. Listen closely and tell me that doesn’t sound like English with American accents, especially around the 1:50 mark. Also, think about the differences in the languages. English is a Latin/Germanic language that is sung, which is why it flows. Dutch is a West Germanic language with roots in the old Afrikaans speech, which defines itself with the spoken, staccato signature of that type of stereotyped talk. So, even if these were Dutch soldiers speaking English, and even if they were doing it well, the phonics would be off and awkward. I’d be willing to bet that we’re watching a Navy SEAL or similar detachment working under the guise of the Dutch government.

    1. I don’t know what America you’re from, but that definitely does not sound like American accents to me. Not in the slightest. You might look up “Dutch Marines” and read a bit about them. There is a component within the Dutch Marines that is their “Maritime Special Operations Forces.” It would seem that this type of mission is precisely what they are trained to do.

    2. Uh – I also do not detect an American accent.

    3. Yeah, thats not an american accent. I’m not a linguistic but the way they say show your hands… they dont enunciate their words. its also hard to understand

Here you have the original video without the voiceover.
Being Dutch, I can definitely vouch for the fact these marines are Dutch.
I can even hear some Southern Dutch (Brabant) accents…

          Awesome!

  6. “with roots in the old Afrikaans speech” – you do realize that south afrika was a dutch colony for a few hunderd years? Afrikaans is actually old dutch with english mixed in.

And im pretty sure they are dutch :) they might use english calls for some stuff – The somolies are more likely to understand english than dutch annyway.

  7. Additional info: The Dutch Marines are not normal units, they are the CT teams here in the netherlands. (hence no faces in the footage and no markings) Also the original movie footage is presented by the Dutch goverment, The marking om Lynx helicopter is Dutch as wel. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Netherlands_Air_Force)

Even more aditional info: The ditch marine forces are the oldest marine forces in the world: founded 10 December 1665.
