East Palo Alto, CA Detective Roderick Tuason advocates killing law abiding gun owners on facebook.
I’m very surprised that Law Enforcement agencies allow their officers to have anything to do with social networking sites.
Egos get in the way, personal opinion shines through and stuff like this happens. Oh.. but its an isolated incident right? *sarcasm*

If this guy has a career even in mall security after this incident, it is really an injustice to us all.

My feelings about this crap are obvious in my e-mail to the Mayor & Councilman… and yes I was so “agravated” I let spelling errors go…
Gentlemen,
This attitude when combined with that of the larger cities in California are why I will NEVER again visit your state, nor do purchase anything I can identify as being made in or distributed from California. I don’t even go to the movies anymore.
By the way, I’ve been a Police Officer for 29 years and still am one, I’m also the Firearms and Tatctics Instructor for my department. Oh, and just for clarity, I have degrees in Criminal Justice and Adault Education. If MY Chief allowed this kind of idiocy, I’D resign myself, but I suspect Tuason wouldn’t last in my department.. and you wonder why California Police Officers ave such a crappy image!?
Oh, Feel free to share this with Officer Tuason and pass him my e-mail if you like… I’ll discuss it with him ANYTIME…
Awesome email Jerome! Very concise.
These kind of “officers” can’t be fired fast enough.
Yea it will be interesting to see if he still works there in a few months. My guess is he gets a paid leave until this all blows over, then back on regular duty. That, or else he just gets relocated to a new department. This is one story I really would like to see a follow up on. Maybe ill have to make some phone calls in a few months and see what’s up.
I wondered if the actual conversation was still posted on Facebook, and I saw that the originator of the conversation (or someone else) had erased their name and profile picture in an effort to disguise themselves. I didn’t let this dissuade me. I found a couple of the posters on that thread by searching Facebook for their name’s and verifying that the profile pictures were the same. I then copied and pasted their friends lists into a spreadsheet. From there I was able to import the data into an Access database and create a table for each friends list. It is then a piece of cake to link both tables together and pull only names that are on both lists. (This all probably sounds much more complicated and time consuming than it actually is. In reality it probably took all of five minutes.) Turns out there is only one name that occurs on both friends lists: Stan Szeto. Unfortunately, my friend request to Mr. Szeto is still pending. The same is true with the other posters on the thread that I was able to find by searching Facebook. However, one of the friends that was suggested by Facebook did accept, and is also a friend of Mr. Szeto’s. So, while I don’t have full access to his profile, I do have a little more access than I previously did by virtue of being a friend of a friend. While I can’t be 100% certain than this is the guy who originally posted, there is plenty of circumstantial evidence. He does appear to be a police officer. He’s Asian and appears to be about 130 lbs, the kind of officer I might expect to, along with Officer Tuason, have a complex about being the “big” guy with a gun. From the friend of a friend I was also able to access the profile of another poster who was previously hidden in searches. So, that’s all three of the posters (minus Tuason) that I’ve positively confirmed as being friends with this individual.
I haven’t messaged him to ask him what his real thoughts on people carrying weapons in California is, but here’s his profile in case anyone else feels compelled.

This was how it appeared on my screen. If there’s a problem with that, post back and I’ll try to sort it out.
Awesome work Josh!
Maybe it is because I don’t use facebook, but that Stan Szeto link doesn’t work for me. Maybe he got rid of his account now too?
It was still up an hour ago; doubt he got rid of it. I’ll look at it again when I’m back at my computer (on my BB right now).
Looks like you have to be a Facebook user to be able to see it. By the looks of it, maybe you can’t see anything at all on Facebook without first signing up for an account.
Ah yea.. maybe the person has to make their page public in the options or something. I have seen a few people’s pages on there, but it seems like most are protected. That page not found message is a new one though to me.
My agency just okayed employees going on facebook on agency computers as long as the visit “doesn’t interfere with normal duties.” I have yet to figure out why they did this. I have no use for telling the world all there is to know about myself…although, I do admit checking facebook to see my more serious suspects have a page… It’s kind’a like the questions on the form to buy a firearm, always shocked how many people admit to being an illegal alien or/and using drugs right down to photos of multi-hit convicted felons bragging about their latest gun with the picture proof. Personally, I don’t care what someone does in the privacy of their castle, just keep it off the street and away from kids. I wish Tuason luck in reaching the point he realises we’re supposed to be PeaceKeepers not JBT Law Enforcers
That’s really cool that you use facebook as a tool in your investigations. I can imagine it’s astonishing all the illegal things people put up there.
His address in Millpitas and his phoner number can be found on Zabasearch.
Yeah. I see that!

At least it is making National news now! I still would bet Tuason is going to work every day as usual though, and the department is just waiting for all of this to blow over.
